I suppose it's no different to people that grind computer games to get 100% completion. A little dopamine hit each time that number edges up, followed by the satisfaction of having finally completed a long-sought goal.

In my defense, I'd say that the suicide rate for men is 4x that for women, and that a large proportion of suicides come after divorce and loss of access to children. (Sorry for being hand-wavey, but I can't search for the research to back these claims from where I am currently.)

Let's assume that their figure of 1% is correct. In the UK in 2021 alone there were 694,685 live births according to Google. That means in one year alone nearly 7,000 children were from "EPP". That's an enormous number of people, mostly men, potentially wrongly pursued for child support, or battling through the courts to be given access to a child that's not theirs, etc.
That strikes me as a hugely important issue.

I would ask, why shouldn't it be laid squarely at the feet of these women? This is something that a particular type of woman does to vulnerable men.
These men ought to have our sympathy rather than being labelled as "incels", a term which so easily lets us avoid viewing them as victims. Similarly, these women ought to be held responsible for their actions.
People seem to be more concerned with the perceived misogyny of, at worst, a mildly offensive word than the systematic exploitation of vulnerable members of society.

In all my time coding, I don't remember anyone wasting hours trying to undo some mess they'd made in SVN, TFVC, Perforce, etc.
Tools exist to make our lives easier. If they can't do that, they don't deserve our time.

Why should it be anyone's responsibility to undergo a medical procedure on the off chance that someone in the future might be at risk of something completely different?
My take away from the article is that Watson and Crick were the ones who finally cracked the puzzle, but that Franklin and Wilkins' (and others') findings were a key part.
It's telling that the controversy only surrounds Franklin's contributions, not Wilkins', presumably because of her gender and the need to promote women's historical contribution to science. I understand the desire to do that, as the theory goes that girls can only be interested in science if they know of women who have excelled previously. (I'm not sure I completely buy this, but I'm not about to die on that hill.)
However, I'm glad this article was published, as it gives some balance to what has become (as per) a deeply biased and divisive discussion, mostly, I have to say, by the myth-making and narratives of one side.
To add a personal anecdote, I'll note that my son was straight-up taught (by his female science teacher) that Watson and Crick did not discover the structure of DNA but stole it from Franklin. I'm still not sure I've completely disabused him of this idea.
Gosh yes, I loved The Sunday Format, and it deserves to be remembered. I used to have mp3s of all the episodes, but they didn't survive an HDD fault.
This is the point I'd stress. There's never a "right time", you'll always wonder if you're doing the right thing, and there'll always be reasons why you should wait a year or two more.
If it's any help, I used to use Devolo EoP devices, but I'm stopping. My 1930s house has crummy wiring and I was frequently having to power cycle them to get anything to work.
I've switched to using a TP-Link Deco M5 wi-fi mesh (and I've disabled the wi-fi on the router my internet provider supplied).
So far, no problems at all. They're much cheaper also.
