I've met British people who've been in NZ since the 1980s who still consider themselves ex-pats - and can still complain about how our Weetbix is nothing like good ol Weetabix.

How is this different to any other migrant who misses something from their homeland? Why does it bother you, and why do you see it as an indication of a deficiency of mindset? Shall I similarly hold something against migrants in the UK who prefer something about their homeland? I can't imagine keeping this attitude.

I've lived in other countries but have never called myself an expat. In my experience, the term has been used exclusively by others, mostly non-white people, to describe me.

It's no different from Chinese migrant communities in my hometown calling themselves "Overseas Chinese".

My wife's parents last week were able to accept delivery of only 3 garlic bulbs, a small cabbage and one or two other root vegetables. Every night they have to spend hours desparetly trying to put items in their basket, hoping that what they place in it remains in stock for longer than a few seconds. If the order is successful there is little certaintly that you'll get what you ordered. Some people will receive fresh meat and fish, many others won't.

So no, it's not a little weird if you engage your brain and attempt to show a modicum of empathy or understanding of the situation.

Surely the Bostom bombings and El Paso, Foot Hoo, Orlando & San Bernardino shootings count as more destructive domestic terror attacks (assoicated with various groups). Perhaps I have misundertood and you are speaking specifically of structural damage.
