i've had tailscale almost permanently enabled for a couple of years at this point and it's never a problem (ios, nextdns with a tailscale specific profile rather than a pihole or something)

Possibly the ps3? They did eventually recover but the early years were rough

I’m sure elites love that we’re spending more time arguing about tokenism in mediocre corporate franchise media and other nonsense than we are talking about economic and material concerns

yeah, I have HD600s and I’m pretty sure I couldn’t tell the difference blind between my amp+dac setup or onboard audio on my desktop & thinkpad having a chunky volume nob on the desk is nice I guess

running a 1900ACS2 with divested for a couple of years and it has been rock solid

I feel like while you're absolutely right, I still have this nagging voice in the back of my head with gmail - a concern that there's this non-zero possibility I could lose access because e.g something i upload to drive gets mistakenly flagged as copyrighted material. Too many eggs in one basket.

I found gmail's spam filtering amazing from 2004 until this year, where it's massively gone downhill and I've been getting tons of obvious garbage hitting the inbox and things I want from known senders landing in junk. Moved my business email to fastmail, perhaps personal will soon follow.

i've really struggled with this for a few years now - spotify's algorithm has bubbled me and just recommends the same half a dozen albums and artists no matter what I listen to. NTS radio has been fantastic though.

How's the 3070 going on Linux? I've been away from desktop Linux since ~2006 or so but find myself extremely tempted to go back lately, just I have a 3070 too (with a mild undervolt so it doesn't sound like a leaf blower) and have always heard negative things about Nvidia drivers and performance over there.

The spotify desktop app is really shoddy, i've had problems with the 'spotify helper' process on osx draining cpu/battery and causing the fan to start, had to write a script to kill it if it's using over 90% cpu. There are posts on their support forum about that issue going back four + years so I wouldn't expect this to get fixed any time soon.
