I love what I am hearing. I still see a lot of engineers using pandas, but it is such a horrible tools. You usually find an abandoned notebook with 100s of ”df_final_2” with sequential wrangling, making it impossible to understand what’s happening. Notebooks are also horrible for the same reason IMO.

With chat-your-data you have Hex, Claude + MCP, snowflake, Databricks etc… everyone’s in on it.

Inference is cheap as long as you have 1000 data centers full of GPUs. The only crux is you have neither.

CC went from sane defaults in late 2025 to feature scope creep early 2026. So more features might be good, but sounds like an ick for me. But I have zero prestige, I might switch back.

Recently switched to Codex after 6m in Claude. Codex seems more open, it’s easier to follow what the model is doing and the approvals have a better UX. Overall, it just feels more transparent. Cost of switching was close to 0.

I don’t like that Claude became more opaque around February, including the system prompts. 33k feels way too much.

The best audiobook I’ve ever listened to is Stephen Kings On Writing: A memoir of the Craft, read by the author. One of our times best storytellers, both when it comes to writing them and telling them.

We have Siri, we have Apple Intelligence, we have AI that can solve open Erdős problems. Obviously, creating software is still hard.

I probably could do something myself. The problem is hardware. I’d like to use HomePod, and it should be able to understand how I want my groceries sorted. The classification is so easy GPT 3.5 can do it, but that’s not the hard part.

Don’t tell me, tell whoever is responsible for AI at Apple.

I am still waiting for the day me and my wife can share a grocery list, that can be accurately modified by a voice assistant AND correctly sorted by category. This guy is arguing mass unemployment, while I still have to tell Apple Reminders that no, Siri, wood glue is not in the Candy department.

Actually, this sounds like an answer from a male non-parent. There’s a drive to reproduce in every biological being. It has never been about comparing towards neighbors, love and joy, etc. I’m a parent, and honestly, it’s just biology.

I’ve had so much wierd output because context is ”””memorized””” and bleeding into completely unrelated projects and conversations. It’s the first feature I turn off.

TBF, I haven’t heard much about MCPs at all lately. I thought it was one of those “install once -> make LinkedIn post on how MCPs will change the world -> ugh MCP crashes with wierd error -> abandon” things. Could be wrong.
