I haven't thought about Joan in years. I used to frequent the ASCII art newsgroups in the late 90s as a teenager.

I hope wherever they are, they are doing well knowing that they are a tiny bit of Internet history.

I love it for the Windows-style peek. I almost can't work without it now.

I have the same. Every day. I've done a lot of searching, and some people think that certain external monitors might be "the issue"--which I use. It didn't seem to be an issue before Catalina though.

Using and ad blocker? I disabled mine and that section showed up.

With the growing amount of free online courses, it's a shame there isn't a good way to share resources like this to people who want to self-educate just to learn and better themselves. Instead they must also be burdened with extra costs of enrolling in an institution.

I'd also like to know what you use. I want to only blacklist as well, but I can't find anything with good support for that.

What I've wanted for some time, and it seems hard for me to find, is a good ad blocker that only works on blacklists. I don't mind ads on some sites as long as they're non-intrusive. Once they start getting in the way of the content though, I want to blacklist the site. Everything I've seen so far (although I haven't put a LOT of time into searching) only works on all sites by default and you have to whitelist the ones you want to have ads enabled on.

I've splurged on tiny things and donations over the years with my old CPU-mined bitcoins. I'd completely forgotten about my wallet until things started getting crazy at $300 a week or so ago (was it that short?).

I was lucky enough to find 1.02BTC still sitting there, and now I can only hope that I can get Coinbase to verify my bank account before anything pops.
