I suggest you do more research on the benefits and risks of GMOs from more reputable sources. From my understanding, the primary risks of GMOs are less to do with human health and more about environmental risks, such as creating superweeds that can outcompete native plants or negeative effects on soil microbes.

I came across this article in the Smithsonian magazine [0] that details a similar breakthrough for cultivated truffles in the US. The challenge commercially vs. the morels here, however, is that the partner plant for truffles appears to be _an entire forest_.

Thanks for the reminder, I haven't read this in years! It's the first piece of writing of his that opened my eyes beyond 1984. If people are looking for other mildly humorous but still serious in the same vein, I would recommend "Down and Out in Paris and London."
