Yeah, I'm not sure why it's a hedge against AI. How about a hedge against the fact that we still need to build stuff, cool spaces, plumb buildings, provide electricity and fewer people are being trained for this stuff.

Prescribed burns are generally focused mainly on acreage and reducing the amount of fuel available for wildfires; cultural burns are focused on what needs burned to revitalize woodlands and promote biodiversity.
I wish they'd elaborate on how this is done. Focuses on what needs to be burned? Meaning a type of tree? Just the undergrowth? Curious how fire can be controlled to just specific elements in the landscape.

Aren't bars similar to dating sites? A forum for men to compete with other men for women. I would think they'd have better luck with group activities (rec sports, craft/hobby stuff) or online groups devoted to something (restaurant enthusiasts, etc).

That's what I've seen. Young folks learn latest language/framework/tool/etc and decide the old stuff the grey beards use is antiquated. Then you get real old and realize there is nothing new under the sun (usually) and there was a reason the gray beards were doing it the way they were.

Yep. Also a right can't be guaranteed if there is a limited resource needed to provide it. If healthcare is a human right, and half the country dies due to some plague, who will provide the healthcare that is guaranteed.
This is just a semantic argument over the exact meaning of "right". It's not a moral discussion. It's fine to say everyone should get healthcare, just don't call it a right because words have definitions (or should).

They keep bumping up the starting wage. $12/hr for fast food. You can get a nice one bedroom here for $800/month. No long commutes here.
I never said I had a definition of lazy. I just said that some people are lazy and some aren't. You can't make a blanket statement saying all young people are not lazy. Just pointing out that I've never seen so many help wanted signs as I do now.
Of course some young people are lazy. And some are not lazy. I have no idea about South Africa, but in the US I can hardly find a business in my town (especially restaurants) without a "help wanted" sign. This may be a short term issue related to the pandemic.
