Of course there's a dark side, but the truth is that a lack of real democracy, fair elections, human rights etc. just isn't going to matter to your average startup. In fact, it's not going to matter to the average person, either.
It includes exposure, yes, but the idea is to encourage the patient/client to decide to seek out triggering stimuli themselves.
"Indifferent towards rape." Seriously? Not being triggered by a depiction of a rape in a novel doesn't mean you're indifferent towards rape.
And while "springing" "triggering" "content" on a weak person is a bad idea, encouraging them to seek out triggering content on their own and approach it at their own pace is going to create a stronger, better person. It's not just about the trigger either - learning that you can overcome something like that is extremely empowering. Hiding for the rest of your life is slowly going to turn you into a coward.

Also, not all countries in Europe have a minimum wage - there's no official minimum wage in Norway (although the de facto minimum wage is a lot higher than in the US).

Slightly related, but I once ran an imageboard for friends and set up a hook to output the EXIF geolocation of uploaded photos to a private IRC channel.
It was surprising to see how often something would show up! Even when uploading photos straight from a phone through the browser.

If you disregard immigrants from Africa, the Middle-East and Asia, most European countries have birth rates at the same level or lower than Japan.
Oh yeah, there are attempts all over the world, but for some reason it seems to "stick" better in the anglosphere.
Also, while this is all coming from the left, it's not really coming from the "mainstream left" - it's coming from a fringe of troublemakers. The mainstream left, respectful as they believe themselves to be of the "other", are just letting it happen. And they're going to continue to let it happen for a while longer, until... well, I don't want to speculate too much on what happens when the house of cards falls down, but I doubt it's going to be pretty.
(I used to be a "leftist" myself, but now consider myself apolitical. I moved out of my home country and can no longer vote, but to be honest, I don't miss it at all)

There's a reason all these stories stay so vague - as soon as the details come out, it turns out to be lies, exaggerations or really really minor stuff.
By keeping the narrative at the level of "fouled up his room", "made women feel uncomfortable", "drove people out of open source" the people who attack him can make sure that no one can prove them "wrong". Of course, they also ensure that they can't prove anything themselves, but it's not really about that.

You are either lying about Peterson, or you just haven't listened to him properly. He brings up heritability ranges all the time and he also explains why a seemingly smallish difference between preferences by gender can have surprisingly large effects.
Today's capitalist system is lifting people out of poverty at a pace we couldn't have imagined 200 years ago. If you really believe that quality of life for the world's poor has decreased in recent years you are living in a bubble and I urge you to leave it.

I follow about a thousand people on twitter, all of whom I met IRL. Not a single person tweets about brexit, sexism, politics or ideology.
If you stay away from the anglosphere, twitter is pretty nice!
The peculiarly American coalition of political extremists, liars, con artists and mentally ill people wins again, and the longer they keep winning the worse the backlash is going to be when it comes.
Just say no to codes of conduct. Say no to victim-ideology. Say no to politics. And most importantly, say "fuck you" to anyone who dares make the claim that everything is politics.
