If you just want a tiny desktop computer, sure. The reason to buy a Pi is for the GPIO and the well-established ecosystem.

The linked model has 16x the amount of RAM that $35 model had. You can still get a 1GB model for less than $50.

Yup, it’s exactly this for me. I recently spent about six months with Fedora. It felt good and did everything I needed it to, but it was plagued by connectivity issues with my Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

I have things to do. Diagnosing driver/chipset compatibility problems doesn’t help me get those things done, so back to macOS I went.

Yes, a person in 60° water is losing heat energy more quickly than someone in 60° air. This is because water is much more efficient at transferring this energy - something like 24x IIRC.

Determining an equivalent air temperature requires knowing a bunch of additional factors (e.g. humidity). I don’t know of a rule of thumb you could apply other than saying the equivalent air temperature of water below one’s body temperature would be much colder, and the inverse would be true for water temperatures above one’s body temperature.

Water is a much, much better conductor of heat than air.

I don’t see how what advertisers are doing could be construed as blackmail or any other form of extortion. At least to me, this looks like a simple protest - certainly not anything illegal or nefarious.

For me it’s a question of priorities. My salary makes up nearly 80% of my household income. Maintaining financial stability for my family is far, far more important than going on a crusade that might risk my employment.

Narcosis is nothing to trifle with. After a particularly bad experience at 150ft on air, I understand why some agencies advocate for a maximum equivalent narcotic depth* of 100ft.

*For the non-divers out there, it’s possible substitute a less narcotic gas - typically helium but not always - for a portion of the narcotic gas in a mixture. Equivalent narcotic depth (END) is a way to equate a mixture’s narcotic effect to that of air at a given depth.
