In fact, the official stance of the SSL team at CloudFlare is that they won’t revoke unless the team has “determined the private key was compromised.”

Sounds like you should email the private key to the Cloudflare security team as plain text

The reality is that most other major cities have garbage collection figured out in a better way. For instance in my city, garbage is kept in a dedicated garage area in each apartment building, and on a scheduled day, it's picked up either right in the building or in the alley after the caretaker moves the dumpsters there. The fact that this is considered politically untenable in New York is frankly insane, glad I don't live there.

The standard library can't ever remove anything because of the Go compatibility promise, and a certain percentage of it is mistakes. Once some functionality is later realized to be poor or incorrect, and the design prevents fixing it, there is not much that can be done other than telling people not to use it anymore. What you refer to as the worst of both worlds is unfortunately inevitable, but at least it's in service of a greater goal.

edit: clarity

Wow, incredibly foreboding. Looks like a place that people would organize witch hunts from, or maybe other occult rituals. If I saw one of these in the woods I would run in the other direction.
