Is this copy/paste with highlight available globally or limited only to terminals?

I can do this with text highlighted in iterm. Highlighted text can be copied in other apps as well with Shift + Command + “v”. Or with terminal app, where the shortcut only works when used within terminal app itself.

Figuring out that one of the services i was maintaining needed http connection pooling for calls to an external service to get within acceptable levels of performance. Spent a fair bit of time and effort to reach the conclusion and should have probably known to use it from the start, with it being a best practice followed in some other services already. Still, the whole process of finding/fixing the bottleneck left me very pleased.

The improved support for external monitors alone is enough to make one not want to go back to X11. No more fiddling with xrandr to fix scaling issues. Or being forced to settle for lower refresh rates if any one of the monitors or cables can't support higher rates. Moving to wayland has definitely resulted in a much better experience.

Quite an unfortunate situation for those who would like public pressure on apps to minimize the permissions they ask for. Atleast in whatsapp's case it would be hard to convince most people to stop allowing contact access to the app as being able to send messages to all your phone contacts without any setup on your part is probably one of the major reasons that whatsapp became so popular.

Typing this from Fedora running on retina MBP. Everything other than the camera works out of the box and has been a pleasant experience for the limited amount of time i have had this setup. Linux install is running from an external SSD connected through USB3 so OS X is untouched. I don't notice any performance issues with this setup, none of my workloads are disk heavy. External monitors requiring different scaling than the desktop might need some setup.

EDIT: No experience with touchbar equipped models

About six months back I started at my first job after being unemployed for the last six years and weirdly enough did not experience any “why didn't I start doing this sooner” feeling. Guess a really supportive family and the knowledge that i would be inevitably starting at a job some day made the transition almost a non event.

If the real problem is misuse of clause of being underage by organized criminals, then laws against organized crime and even more importantly it seems in India's case the infrastructure to prosecute the guilty should be strengthened. Toughening the laws for under aged does not seem the appropriate response in that case.
