I've used Nomad (https://www.getnomad.app/), they usually have a 10-25% code somewhere. I've had no issues and used them 10s of times.

Zotero got me through university. If their app supports Chromebook this could make them even more useful for new students on a budget.

Actual Budget (https://actualbudget.org) - I'm not connected to them but I use their software on a daily basis and it's still well maintained.

They can be picked up and worked upon at any time by anybody, even if many years have passed since they were last developed.

Assuming it's maintainable and not the illegible scrawlings of someone crazy, sometimes software is just some random folk in Nebraska's pet project and it's been dropped for something shinier/they gained employment.

After the whole Easy Life situation[1] I'm completely over them. What scummy business practices.
