Please seek therapy as soon as you can. This is not the right place for you my Brother. Good luck and don't give up.
You had better be careful. You mix "them" with him" in your description. You have to make sure that each and everyone of the individuals that you are thinking about taking action, is based on HIS or HER INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE ETC. Not a lot of precedents for this kind of action on a group without looking like you are trying to keep them from just vesting. It will go better if you have their transgressions OTR.
Internet radio stations on the dark web.
Any of Wiseman's documentaries are good but Basic Training, Meat and Blind are good ones to start with if you are not familiar with his work
Book- Simulacra and Simulation Author- Jean Baudrillard
A lot of useful insights that I will use the next time I need a printer. This comment is totally off topic- I have noticed the same thing about external cameras for my desktop computer. Never needed one until the pandemic forced Zoom et al on all of us. Any comments?
After reading all of this, it might be time for me to wean myself from LI, so any tips you may have would be great. I run a small pro bono (sometime contracts) for apprenticeships and workforce development in disadvantaged working class and BIPOC communities. Revenue not so much as the networking is the thing that seems to be my biggest challenge without LI
Since this has leaned pretty much into Indo-European languages, here is something that is not as well known. Indigenous languages in the Americas were nearly extirpated by colonialism. Take a look. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classification_of_indigenous_l...
You have some really responses to your question. There may be more coming, but with what you have here, it is a goldmine of great anecdotes, stratgies, tactics and facts. Good luck.
Unfortunately Dr. Reik the principal investigator, has failed to mention in his research on other experiments that Cambridge has used HeLa cells for research for decades, reaping huge financial benefits and recognition from research using the cells. Wikipedia excerpt states that, "Henrietta Lacks was an African American woman whose cancer cells were taken in 1951 without her or her family's permission and used to generate the HeLa cell line – the world's first immortalised human cell line." So with all the kudos the and his fellow researchers deserve, I think that it high time for Cambridge and others to acknowledge the research started from HeLa. There is no indication by the way, the researcher used HeLa cells. I am making the point in general that a lot of research at Cambridge and other research institutions have been bought and paid for by HeLa.
In my experience, this is normal for some companies. I am a little surprised by your experience with Microsoft, but the others are relatively new, which means they have limited experience in interviewing and reviewing applicants for senior positions. They would do better by outsourcing the process to an HR IT headhunter. That way, they can keep working and let the hiring process sit with the consultant.
Before the internet, I was in radio, non-commercial, listener supported radio, sponsored through the Pacifica Foundation, at KRAB Radio. It was a great time for radio, I just wish there was a way to implement a model like that to the web. I know, I am crazy to even think that this is something that can be done. LOL
Not available in my sector, using VPN, get a captcha that does not respond. Tor not responding either.
OK, so I agree with a lot of the stuff you are saying, but you are all neglecting the reality that many have been excluded from learning math, science and technology like coding because of the shitty schools they are forced to attend. Of course big companies want to have a surplus of coders just like every other skilled profession, because it increases their bottom line. You can't blame people for wanting to try and get ahead and coding is a really good way to make a living. Despite the arguments about teaching people how to think abstractly and nonsense like that, take a look at the P-TECH school that started in Brooklyn NY. Very successful workforce programs that I designed in the past were used as a model for P-TECH, which has been adopted internationally. STEM and STEAM schools is not propaganda in every instance. Many people are working to provide kids with a chance at making it through a recognized profession. What is wrong with that? STEM and STEAM in public schools do not require or tell everyone that they "NEED to learn how to code" etc. There is is a lot more to it when it comes to STEM, many programs, some of which are total garbage, and others which are making a difference in the lives of people. Get outside of your comfort zone and take a look.
Whatever you do, DO NOT QUIT. The lessons that you just learned are going to help you and most likely will guide you in the future. After a while you will meet other people like these two, who are most likely responding to pressure from above, and since both of them seem to micromanagers (my assumption) they would find something to fuck about with you regardless. You know what you have done, and there is no possible way to respond or meet deadlines when there is a hidden agenda. Just do what they ask to the best of your ability and the rest will take care of itself. Good luck and Godspeed.
I think that we have to ack the not so small role of ham radio operators. I was one as a kid, and that was all my Homer and my club buddies talked about. They took the impossible and made it happen much like the folks who population this ecosystem. That includes computers as well. I switched from a iambic paddle to send morse code to a ZX 81 kit that sent and received Morse ASCII etc, flawlessly and at higher speeds than I could send even with the paddle. In everyone of these technologies, you will see the hand of ham radio operators in the background, doing the experiments, making the rigs, etc.
Evolutionary biologists are divided on his work. His own research and published works have been used by racists for example to readily explain the social origins of intelligence, poverty, crime, and violence regarding POC. He never actively fought against such tendencies, even though he was aware that he had become the darling of white nationalists, and even fascists globally. I believe that ALL "traits" can be explained by social environment rather than by biology. I respectfully refer you to many of Gould's work on sociobiology. We are not insects we are human beings.
Definitely "The Visual Display of Quantitative Information" by Edward Tufte
As an adult, I use a GCM manufactured by Abbott, which allows for scanning and recording data, charts etc. I inject appropriate insulin dosage after reading the GCM scan. The software and hardware are proprietary for use with IOS. The package is very effective and accurate, and very expensive if you consider how much insulin, needles and the consumable GCM cost together. It works and I have been able to get very good, tight control using their system. Until OS software and hardware catch-up, this might be a good intermediate step for those who can afford it. Pumps are always going to be problematic until they are simple enough for youth to understand and maintain them, since most Type 1s start out at a young age being insulin dependant.
A great discussion, now lets support this new enterprise.
Thank you for the trip down memory lane.
The only take away that I have is that the Chinese would have a serious issue, if any nation was caught in their territorial waters, especially on this scale. You have to remember that this article is focused on Argentina, but PRC has signficant and large global fleets roaming the seven seas causing havoc in many maritime zones. Like I said before imagine Japan doing this to the PRC. Significant punitive military and diplomatic action would have been taken. The PRC has to stop this kind of hypocritical behavior.
OK so just as a goof, I typed in "tank man man tank" and voila a few photos showed up in BING and DDG
Sounds like OmniCorp from Robocop. Private security firms in gated communications is well over 60 years old, but now augmented with new IT technologies and AI, this could be a problem, especially if legislation is passed to legitimize these outfits and give them special police powers, which many private security firms have now, including carrying firearms.
I can relate to the "fatigue" issue. I am an ABD from a big world class university, and plan on never going back after suspending my studies. During the course of my studies I became ill and even though some people on my committee expressed support, my chair did not really know how to mentor and encourage me while I was going through chemotherapy, trying to work full time (to keep medical coverage) and do the work necessary to complete the dissertation. My experiences working in other universities are even worse. Faculty who exploit students or punish them for perceived slights or lack of dedication are one of the key reasons for the mess that we are in. It's dreadful overall and would not suggest doing any doctoral studies to anyone. Your viewpoint about your students as apprentices is very encouraging but this is an attitude that is not conducive to most university settings that I have been involved with. Its about the money plain and simple.

I am not an expert whatsoever. I just notice a similar thing happening at around the same time, the wireless and sometimes ethernet connection dies. Usually a minute up to three minutes the connection resumes.
They are bluffing. Keep negotiating until you get what you want.
Thank you. I will check it out.
