| The one huge advantage of digital media is that it doesn't degrade in any meaningful way (aside from random tracks being accidentally deleted

That assumes you're using a storage platform that routinely validates the integrity of the data at rest.

Just means that you're getting shit done.

If I see cable management, it just tells me that they spent more time doing that than labbing.

I'm not defending the validity of this article but it is very rare that Netflix, Youtube, or any other stuff backed by the big CDNs(Content Delivery Networks) cross actual metered transit connections(for the networks, not including what the end user has to pay for their servivces.)

Jeff is awesome, and only mentioning it because I have the same experience with Adrian Black's videos (Adrian's Digital Basement.)

I would have killed for this kind of content as a youth.

Just want to throw out there that people should be allowed to be wrong. Especially if they've shown the capacity to recognize their mistakes and own them.

Yeah, we cringe but who ever actually learns something without making some mistakes along the way?

If we spent all of our time dealing with the anxiety of trying to never be wrong -- most of us wouldn't be able to function.

My biggest issue with the early Airs is that they were so aggressive with how thin the display is, that the LCD is often damaged by the bag you keep it in from the outside.

A replacement display is basically 70+% the cost of the entire machine.

AppleCare had to replace two of them on my Sandy Bridge MacBook Air. They blamed the bag I kept it in(when replacing it the second time), but they also sold me the bag.

Unless you're planning to immediately replace the SSD yourself, I recommend going with the 256G version.

The 64G version uses an eMMC drive, which might as well be a microSD card itself.

That said, I use the 256G NVMe version with a few microSD cards and it's been an amazing experience. Games have slightly longer loading times when played from microSD but that's almost completely irrelevant because of how well the deck handles resume from suspend/sleep.
