I could show you my collection of broken lightning cables where the plastic just before the "meat" of the connector is split, leading to visible copper/whatever cables. Which in turn leads to broken copper/whatever cables, which are at best broking the functionality, at worse dangerous (is it?).

Sleep apnea has the symptoms of waking up in the night to go to pee, waking up in the night fully awake and sweating profusely during sleep. They are not always there, but if you have these, you may want to check with your doctor.
I find this take so odd. I presume your are from the US, which is a country with so many cultures flowing in, but from your post you will not accept that a friend of yours may have accents in their name, or that a dish may have accents in it, and will forever misspell them.
When I have friends like that (well, my brother too), I make a point of typing it the way it's supposed to be written, out of courtesy and fun and proudness, like I'm clever enough to type any character I want with my keyboard, because I master it and I master other languages. The day I'll learn how to type Chinese characters fluently, I'll be so happy ! Not to boast, but it will mean I unlocked a whole new world!
From the discussion with my doctor and dentist, I ended having both the cpap for home usage and the dental appliance, made by the dentist, for when I'm sleeping elsewhere. In my case (just above mild apnea), sleep is incredibly better with the cpap, and mildly better with the dental appliance,so the second one is good for temporary measures. And I resent forgetting it when it happens, as a week of poor sleep really affects my behavior.
Your partner hears it, you may hear it when it has moved a bit and the air is leaking, you hear it when you try to go to sleep and the overpressure safety valve is next to your pillow and making a wheezing sound, when you end your sleep cycle and could go to another one except that the mask moved a little and it's bothering enough to wake you up (and then you have to find sleep again), you worry about keeping it and yourself in just the right position that will allow you to go back to sleep, effectively preventing you from falling asleep because of the stress...

I feel like ovh will never stop earing about this. This has been, frankly, a traumatic event for many sysadmins I believe, and one that was shared by many from the same source, which is quite different from the standard variation of "that time when I erased the production database" (looking at you gitlab, but also at myself!). I mean, at this point it's between a legend and a warning tale and I don't know what else to call it. A bad Wednesday probably.

I absolutely understand your point regarding mental illness, but so far the US don't seem to be in a good shape to handle it without SERIOUS risks to others, and on another scale than people getting stabbed randomly, which happens with our without mentally ill people (and is also a very bad thing).
Would there be a modern version of this? I haven't read it and I'm interested, but mostly my parents are getting old, and with AI on the corner, I fear a bit the next level scams.

I don't know about the tree requirement, as I don't believe I have that in my hometown, but we do have a mandatory 2 parking slots rule, within the limits of the property. The idea is to ease the parking space (less traffic jams, less people turning around searching for a place, less pollution also), avoid cars being on sidewalks and general security (better view of the surroundings when driving)

Why are they common there? From a Google search, they are supposed to have 278 teeth. Make it 300 if you will. Given the time we've known for this place, I would assume that even if there were 10 megalodon sharks dead there, the 3000 teeth would be long gone! Is this a cemetery for sharks? Was there like a giant megalodon pond that went dry?

Funnily enough, I have the opposite view: given the amount of stars and of earth like planets in the universe, probabilistically speaking there is bound to be a random chance where two instances of life have the same DNA without ever being in contact.

Plenty of families cut the bridge when a member is acting absolutely morally wrong. If they were not seeing what he was doing, they were clearly blinded by a thousand suns. And if they knew and kept him, well, is remembering his legacy a bad thing? This leaves us with they knew and cut off the bridge, in which case they may well participate in the listing of his "failures", and won't mind much. Plus I'm pretty sure we are all pleb to this kind of families, so I wouldn't expect anything from them once I'm dead.
Doesn't the landing make a huge impact/force on the foils? I would think that they are designed to make the craft go up, thus more susceptible to it going down at higher speed?
Or an example that time changes, the same way banking or agriculture or pretty much anything used to be some way until we discovered that this or that way resulted in more performance or ROI?
