Hey, I'm the author of the paper. Good question! The easy answer is no, the better answer is "yes, unavoidably so." Ultimately it doesn't end up making enough of a difference to work around when we're already tossing out so much information by resizing dramatically.
A lot of name-calling and false equivalencies with nothing to support claims aside from a conversation with Andrew Blake.
Does that article's title make anyone else's brain melt out their ears?
I remember reading this and thinking it was full of thoughtful analogies shared anecdotally. Disappointing.
