Nothing against Ghost, but I've spent about a decade in the area of content management and publishing and don't recognise 1 or 2. The proprietary market leader is AEM which is atrocious to actually implement once you get past their sales demos, and in open source you have Drupal which is a well proven solution for large and small scale publishing, particularly relevant with Drupal 8 and its publishing focused distro Thunder (both particularly adept at services and deployment, tricky areas in publishing)

IMO you seem to try to brush of the opinions of anyone who disagrees with you as stupid.

Well the numbers are overwhelmingly against you and a smart person would stop digging.

Your own figures show that the US is off the charts compared to EU on a) gun ownership b) gun deaths - it's a no brainer and therefore no useful debate on the merits/demerits. (I'm not going to get into US politics and it's really up to them if they want to have more deaths, but even they fall back on 2nd amendment and notions of tradition to try and justify gun ownership.)

Gun ownership and gun deaths are minimal in Europe compared to the US. There's simply no valid debate to be had on this

barriers to entrance on data subs are complex supplier and per end user exchange licensing, and more so millisecond latency (to the extent that you compete on physical proximity to exchanges and low level tightly coupled native code)

FB is a commercial privately owned publishing platform. In some countries, you need a model release to publish photos of me, in others you need a release for my kids, in others none. This is the thorny unresolved question of what jurisdiction 'cyberspace' operates under.

If you are storing any PID of EU citizens, regardless of your jurisdiction, that will come under GDPR very soon (not sure how that impacts social publishing, photos, info gathered in public vs private places, or if it has a get-out clause etc but mentioning it as an example)

The relationship is always and rightly asymmetrical between founders and employees. What's dishonest is offering shares that can be diluted, can't be transferred, and have no voting rights with the understanding that they are any more than shares in the current company bonus scheme. Employers should just pay a competitive salary and bonus. And employees should wise up - if they want a piece of the action they need to take founding level risks and put a lot of skin in the game.

Drupal 8 is very user friendly out of the box. (For publishing, you could maybe go further and use a distribution like Thunder - http://thunder.org/)

we should measure value, that is all. and that's what agile is supposed to aim for, not developer comfort. these processes offer negative value (prohibitive costs of change and inability to execute in time which massively outweigh any perceived security). even a vaguely leaner organisation will eat their lunch.

and that error-proofing is entirely imaginary - they have added a ton of moving parts, handoffs, and manual processes and so will have way more screw ups than a small tight team practising continuous delivery, as anyone who has worked in such environments will know.

cost to business of occasional goof is less here than prohibitively high costs of making any change from these inappropriate and frankly insane processes (I've held management positions at such companies and easily recognise these kind of processes, in fact the post may have triggered some mild PTSD)

Losing weight is not as impossible a mission as the author makes out. Plenty of people on /r/loseit who have lost significant weight. All reduced calories and almost all used myfitnesspal to track them.

A big life event can be used to great effect (and for giving up smoking). Once you get through it (and it's never quite as hard as you fear), you demonstrate to yourself that nothing can stop you.
