Linpack helped me solve an in general intractable problem 15 years ago and kick-started my career short after I got my degree in CS, it turned out that the real world instances of the problem were indeed tractable but that was not revealed untill I tried Linpack. Needless to say I am very greatfull, and I am very happy to see Dongarra got this well earned reward.
Hehe, I'm old enough to have read the sprawl trilogy in my youth, good read indeed. I also remember seeing Gibson interviewed in pretty much every single paper and magazine out there in the begining of the Internet era because of he's writing regarding Cyberspace. Internet went bigger than expected but VR did take a lot more time than I initially expected. The start of a very interesting non the least! :-)
I did actually play Shadow of the beast on my beloved Amiga the other day, not that fun but a great technical show off.
Lemmings is real fun though, can't believe the first Xmas Lemmings was released 30 years ago :-)

Deploying is also easily scripted using the aws-sdk package, see the docs for .S3 and .Cloudfront. Be aware though that if you have a large amount of files the the cost of invalidations at cloudfront will add up quickly, but you can how ever cherry pick files to invalidate.
