Yeah this. One of my friends is a PM for mostly government contracts. He also gets serious commissions for any mid project add ons so they're incentivized to low ball and win contracts then get customers to pay more later.
The fact that you didn't see what he was ACTUALLY referring to is actually funny in that it means you don't really understand what having an ADHD brain is actually like.
He isn't saying this is literally the situation. He's referencing the fact that this is what its like having an ADHD brain. Your BRAIN is the one constantly interrupting you, all the time, bringing you focus away from what it SHOULD be focusing on and onto other random things, making doing consistent DEEP and thoughtful work really hard.
The "workplace that isn't suited for the type of work" you refer to is just saying that my brain isn't suited to the type of work. Which like, yeah... I agree. Thats why I take medication.
So you've listed houses, cars, watches, food. All these things indeed serve a purpose as well as allow for creativity and expression.
But the difference is, all those things have sale values that DIFFER based on that creativity and beauty. Code does not. My customer does not care if my backend code is beautiful, and neither does my CEO because it won't make more money.
Is a dish or menu designed by a chef not art? Is a house designed by an architect not art?
Of course I see the art in those things, and in response i'll pay a lot more for a Frank Lloyd Wright than a mcmansion. But the customer of my B2B CRUD app does not care if my code looks like a FLW or a mcmansion. They care if it works.
No. Not all insiders would necessarily be professionals as covering their tracks post crypto hack. They could just be someone who knew they had access to the keys and said "screw it my life is already horrible lets try this".
Another option is honestly an insider who got screwed (a lot of employees had a TONNE of money on FTX) selling the keys they knew of to someone else.
Unintended? My company did two rounds of layoffs already and this was a thing that was known from day 1. Literally the day after the the first rounds one of the questions in the town hall was about "how do we plan to retain the people who are left now that they're getting spammed by linkedin recruiters".
I think these days this is a known and intentional effect from upper management and they absolutely are accounting for another 5-10% of voluntary leavers post layoffs. Its free money from their POV, no severance.
I work at a company that did layoffs recently as well, about double this size.
Our managers also had no idea until day of. The entire day was spent watching co workers google calendars and slack accounts. Once they got a meeting booked with HR, their meeting titles all turned into "busy", so we would know who is getting cut and who wasn't. It was a brutal day.
In our case I don't think they were picking people based on performance whatsoever. It seemed to just be about who was paid the best and who in the org structure could have their job removed and someone else take over. Really weird.

Exactly this. I've generally loved the small teams I've been on, and keep in touch with co workers from every company I've worked for and left. But that doesn't mean I held any allegiance to the company that we both worked for. I like people not corporations. Yes it sucks to 'leave' your friends behind at a job, but if they're really your friends you'll still keep in touch.

Well, you're both right and wrong. He's right You CAN, but your linked article is also 100% correct, GBTC / trusts are absolutely NOT etf's.
There are however etfs for crypto in other districts (I hold for example ethx.b, a canadian ETF that tracks ETH within my RRSP).
This is only true in certain places. For example, in the thousand islands, the border between US and Canada is VERY nebulous. A line on a map exists, but you can drive your boat around the islands, entering and exiting the US dozens of times, and absolutely nothing will happen to you. The US Coast Guard is there boating around watching, but only rarely pokes around peoples boats.
Now I'm sure if you landed and somehow were talked to by the border police and didn't have a passport you'd be pretty screwed, but honestly thats pretty unlikely to happen. I know an old couple set in their ways who to this day just boat across the river sans passport for a favourite restaurant.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'd like some numbers to back up the government comment. I live in Ottawa, my SO works for government as does many many friends. I make more then all of them. If you speak french, then maybe this is true as you can move up to director etc. but the VAST majority of the people I know in government do not make more than devs I know.

Not true. Sony WF-1000XM3's were released before airpod pros, and they have ANC tech that is by all accounts better than Apples. Its the same ANC module that is in the WH-1000XM3's which are viewed by many to be the best ANC headphone right now.

This works, until you realize that because you're higher than everyone else, they all think YOU have your high beams on. And then you get flashed and honked at on a regular basis (at least I do). Then I actually turn on my high beams to show people what it could be like and they take theirs off.
But even then, you're still right. The worst case scenario in a truck is still nothing compared to the blinding light of a lifted F250 with upgraded HIDs when I'm in my fiesta.

You should learn about the salt balance in the body a bit and then try doing things to mess with it. It could be a sodium issue, hence the gatorade helping, or maybe a potassium issue as well. There is such thing as drinking too much water vs. the salts you consume on a daily basis.

I don't work at a FAANG company, nor have I ever been to SV, nor do I know anyone who works at one of the many enormous tech companies around SV.
In the TV show Silicon Valley they have characters who sit around unassigned doing nothing at the Google-like company in the show. Does this actually happen? Are there people hired at these companies who just don't have a project? Its entirely feasible that Google could afford to do this just to create a dearth of engineers in the area.

From the video, one of his major complaints is that people learn RSA in their first year of university, understand the math, then roll their own. How hard can it be, its modulo and exponents. People don't tend to do this with ECC. They just pick a library.
You are right in saying that the same roll your own problems that occur with RSA would occur with ECC.
Its not deciding what you value, its deciding what it values, and if you disagree you don't have to use google search. Searches like duckduckgo will probably be less opinionated.
Some very small layouts can in fact be used, and quite effectively. I have a co worker who types using stenography (and develops with it as well) and the absolute minimum keys he really needs is around ~25.

Studies [1] have been done, and from what I can see at a cursory look most show a negative correlation, especially for female IQ. I think the disparity between high income to low income counties in the US would show this relatively well.

I can vouch for this, used it daily for most of last year.. And we didn't have much of any latency issues with our team in Canada and 2 others in Turkey.
In practice, many of the cities with the highest housing costs are strongly anti-infrastructure and anti-transport. (What good is a self-driving car if it's getting stuck in the same-or-larger traffic jam everyday?).
These cities would still be better off with SAE Level 4/5 and inter-communicating cars, which should reduce the frequency of traffic jams significantly. Traffic jams are almost ALWAYS caused by human error at some point in the chain.
