simply untrue that google has zero support staff. a better statement would be they have an automated support process for free gmail accounts. they have support staff for many of their products, including the paid version of gmail.

there are many native americans who support the use of this name. it honors them. it's perhaps the most "american" team in pro-football, next to their rivals, the cowboys. the name may genuinely offend some of native american origins. i doubt these folks happen to be fans of the team. not sure if that matters, just sayin.

edit: want to add i am totally in favor of renaming the team. it would be cool to keep the spirit..perhaps the "native americans"?

if said service is provided by the employer, they own the data/communications and have every right to monitor the service. same goes for work email: employers have access to this. it isn't illegal for them to access these communications done on a work account.

However, as he states in the article, instinct is the result of experience. He is saying the mechanism of instinct is older in humans than logic, so the process is more refined/trustworthy when comparing the two. Seems right to me..

how is this nimble? the chrome web store has been around for years and so has office online. this is microsoft being forced to compete on ground they don't want to compete on. you see how by listing their apps on this web store, they have validated chrome os as a platform? whereas google still refuses to release native apps for microsoft's mobile platform, and that certainly hasn't helped microsoft. this is microsoft losing.

this would have been cool if it didn't require you to have an iOS device. like the car should just have it built in. the entire iPhone.

eh. ive worked from home for 6+ years and i don't have a "space" designated for work. i work from bed, the desk, my couch, kitchen table, etc. all i need is a laptop and i'm at work.

Gmail can get mail from other accounts via pop or imap.

but you can create an event from the calendar interface prior to going into the event interface. from the calendar interface, it only gives you the option of creating a title. so i can put meet with name@email.com and create the event. that's it.

Google Calendar should TOTALLY notify you you are adding someone to the event and ask if you want to send an invite. Also, if you are in the events interface and add someone's email to the title, it should add that person to the guest list on the fly. It should do these things, but it doesn't. I think that is the root of the complaint, not the feature itself.

Edit: I am very familiar with Google's products, having helped many businesses move to Google Apps through the years. "Features" like this often surprise users and it is not unusual to get negative reactions. Normally, once you show someone how it works and explain that it isn't likely to change, they adapt.

Yes. Perhaps 1:1 emails aren't the answer, but the mailing list ovbiously isn't working in this case. How about a forum for mass communications? That allows for phyudo- 1:1 conversations while allowing the community to monitor the response. Mailing lists are noisy and contain a lot of useless information for most people subscribed to the list. So much that email providers like Google have added features into their mail clients that allow you to "mute" conversations that aren't specifically addressed to you. Like mailing lists.

this is an absurd waste of taxpayer money. we shouldn't let the government and their contractors get away with this sort of robbery. it is no wonder we are so far in debt as a nation.

exact same thing happened to me in belize to the tune of $1500. i checked with AT&T before my trip and they assured me that belize was covered per my international plan, but then backtracked and told me they specifically said it wasn't covered when i disputed the bill. i clearly remember the call as i was deciding between buying a local sim and just using at&t's roaming plan. lesson learned: always get a local sim. it's cheaper.

i was surprised by this as well since google has moved away from desktop apps to web apps with a few exceptions.
