This isnt exactly new. This is a obvious and predicted effect of ECE Theor. I'm surprised that neither the article nor any other commentor mentioned it yet.

tl;dr on ECE Theory: Gravity is a curvature of spacetime, electromagnetism is a torsion.

Skimmed the patent. Its 99% a pedantic and exhaustive explanation of a linear motor. The only interesting thing they mention, is this:

The inertial mass of an object varies with the variation of its magnetic field and therefore a variation of inertia can be created

But they provide no explanation whatsoever for how a glorified linear motor is relativistically (or otherwise) affecting inertial mass. This could be operating under a novel application of ECE Theory, wherein they are using magnetism to affect gravity, but I doubt it. They would have claimed so.

My second favorite Johnny story is how he did the math for the explosive lenses on the atom bomb, overnight. What we now call partial derivatives, was not yet rigourously proven and studied, but he signed off on it, and it worked. For the sake of the contention in the article, I am distinctly thinking of Grigori Perelman as almost an echo to this phenomenon. He felt his contributions were useful but not miraculous, and himself almost ordinary, that he was being recognized more for sake of national/racial partisanship.

Yep, you get what you pay for. They've started fielding systems that will handle extremes much better, but you dont get that kind of performance without tradeoffs. cascade systems, 200psi r600, 450psi CO2, refrigeration systems are an engineering game irl. They require much more experience to design, setup, and charge correctly. The biggest issue I have with heat pumps for life support heating/cooling, is they have so many single points of failure its scary. Compressors can and will die if anything else in the system goes too far out of the intended cycle. Extreme weather moments or natural disasters can physically break condensors, evaporators, and lines. Electrical surges can and will fry computers, inverters, and controllers. And almost none of those can be serviced on your own.

Devil's take: let them die. Having drivers on the road who are not capable of following basic and obvious posted safety rules, is a hazard to everyone. They need to be "not driving" at whatever cost. Its probably not that expensive to let them get steamrolled once, and since its clearly their own fault theres no public liability. Since the safety of cars has increased dramatically over the last few decades, many more bad drivers are not being forcibly removed from the roads. People survive, and frequently without injuries, more than ever before. People have to learn how to behave on public roads, sometimes the hard way is the only way.

How to fix automotive repair:

1. The development and use of "rate books" is de facto price fixing. labor is a cost, and it has a price. Ban them by law.

2. Take the computers away from the engineers. There should be no ability to drag and drop assemblies to reshape them. No ability to make parts that are computed to barely meet requirements.

3. Patent licensing goes to a small flat fee per item per use. How about $1. A modern car can have upwards of 10,000 active patents for all components. All "Design Copyrights" are voided. A good design isnt created, it is recognized.

well, from just a bit of research, its a wireless induction ammeter. for testing electrical validity of tiny surface mount parts. I imagine its specific to one type of component, such as inductors, and not general purpose. it would work by passing a controlled, stable microcurrent along its bridgewire, and measuring how much interference or flyback is generated. SMD inductors have a predictable design and method of operation, so its probably straightforward to detect their correct operation by induction. it may need the circuit to be powered or active, it may not, cant tell.

honest hard work, depending on the country. if you can cut it as a pipefitter or welder that will make you $100K easy. But its demanding, dangerous, risky work. welding for a living will ruin your eyes even when using the best available protection - if you start at 30 you'll be blind at 50; so they pay accordingly. pipefitting, if you have the aptitude and energy, can pay very well, but its never risk-free. American companies love to H1B both these jobs because its normally a 150-200/year for a domestic master, they pay an H1B $100K and call it cost cutting. This isnt a question of an alternate formula, its about computability and number theory. circumference is = π x D. π is an irrational, transcendental, constant. it cant be constructed with any mathematical tool, other than referring to said equation. any other construct that approaches or approximates it, usually has pi or a circle built in so its self-referential.

All forms like radians which appear to work without pi, do so because they just tokenize it somewhere, and do not evaluate it.

V.M. Glushkov. Soviet scientist who basically delineated cybernetics and computer science as a distinct field. He was about 50 years ahead of his time, so a lot of his best ideas we didnt really start fulfilling until quite recently. His grasp of the fundamental limitations of computers, and how to do useful things within them, was remarkable. He wasnt properly enabled and appreciated by the Soviets, so they were never able to lead the world in computing, but they had some impressive achievements. If you want to learn more, I recomend "Pioneers of Soviet Computing" and Glushkov's own "Introduction to Cybernetics". Of especial interest is his classification of algorithms and automata, nice to compare to modern programming paradigms and developments in new kinds of neural networks.

I live and work in a non-union state. There are still three or four relevant unions, because the work cannot be kicked down the food chain: Welders have about 20 productive years before they are legally blind. Electricians face constant jobsite hazards and risk. Railroad workers have a unique schedule and lifestyle. These unions exist because, despite mgmt effort to cheap out, you cannot cheap out on certain kinds of labor without killing people. These unions are active and healthy, they do not do political stunts, just good clean work.

Due to our technological society, actually nearly everyone is a tech worker, like it or not. We all have a vested interest in maintaining control over technology. So the correct body to form is not a union of workers in the sector core, but a political party with policy goals, with open membership.

Short term: Specialize in something robots / programs cannot do. Actual physical work requires dexterity and perception that robots wont have for decades. Medium Term: Form unions, parties, and other such legal bodies, get protections/privileges, and throw your weight around whenever necessary. Long term: Ensure that "AI" actually becomes intelligent, escapes total control, and make sure it cannot simply be used as a velveted gauntlet.
