yes i deleted facebook eventually because they would not stop showing me this stuff despite clicking “show me less” many times

I can relate to the last bit; I sometimes have (or notice) tinnitus when going to bed. I try to think about what frequency it is exactly and it seems like the direction attention to it causes it to go away (or at least get much more quiet)

thats not a great argument because often the master for a vinyl record is different (crucially, less hyped and compressed) to even be cuttable on vinyl. thus the final product actually can sound better in some cases (not all), not directly because of the vinyl playback but the production processes leading up to that.

if it’s a nice spot and good coffe, I would happily pay $4-5 for a cup of coffee. most of the other times i’ll make it at home to offset

I record audio at my studio into a dropbox folder on an external drive. I paid for a business plan (and the required 3 seats, only using one) so I could have unlimited storage.

This drive is always syncing to the cloud.

I go home (or travel) and can selectively sync specific projects, which still viewing the entire tree and keeping everything organized.

Neither internal drive is large enough to hold the files.

This workflow is so perfect Ive built my entire creative process around it. It’s completely broken by this change.

I’ve been a huge proponent of Dropbox and pay them over 1k a year as an individual just for this functionality.

As far as I can tell, there is no alternative.

consider streaming/downloading (& supporting) independant radio like WFMU.org

not saying it's going to scratch all the itches that Spotify would, but it definitely will scratch some you didnt realize you had, which is a fun experience on it's own
