Calling this "hijacking the Amazon app" is hyperbolic in my opinion. They replaced the shortcut in the app drawer. To me this looks like normal scummy OEM behaviour, like pre-installing spyware, "anti-" malware, adware etc. which sadly pretty much every mobile/computer manufacturer does.

Replacing the OS is one of the first things I do with every laptop, PC and mobile device to get rid of (most) crap that was installed without my consent.

I was once asked whether I was carrying large sums of cash at Oslo airport. I think the only reason they asked me was because there was literally nobody else in sight. I was in my early twenties and broke af. I was wearing jeans with huge holes in them and shoes that were more duct tape than shoe. I showed them all the cash I had on me: 3 coins. 2 of them had holes in them.

I think most people don't participate for the competition. I did it several times to increase my coding skills, have fun or get more practice in a new programming language.

Having a wheel group that is allowed to run any command with su rights is the default setup, but it's not the only one.

I have used sudo a lot of times to allow a specific user to run exactly one command with elevated rights. In those cases they weren't in the wheel group.

At first I thought it should be the other way around. Keep the current keepassxc package and create a keepassxc-minimal. But seeing the build options it makes sense to have a keepassxc-full.

Only thing is this will annoy some people when they upgrade. But only when this reaches stable and then there will be notice in the upgrade documentation and apt-listchangea.

I don't own a steamdeck. But searching around the web a bit I found out that raw-gadget^1 was merged into the linux kernel in 5.7.

And AFAIU that would enable proxying of USB devices.
