Agreed. Spotify Discovery is hardly as good as many people tout it to be. Usually Indie music junk that isn't really my genre. Also agree that Pandora is far superior when it comes to curating tracks. A trick I've learned from a friend is to never like a song Pandora; only dislike what you don't want to hear. Spotify Radio is terrible as well. There's no good way to reseed a radio station. For example, when I first started using Spotify radio, I was listening to The National a lot. For whatever reason, 3-4 years since, whenever I start my 'Liked From Radio' station, it plays The National every fifth song or so. Ugghhh!!! Finally, Spotify on Android has been kinda buggy for me. Once you have a lot of offline music on your device, the app takes forever to load on startup. It complains if there is no active internet connection, etc. When I wrote to Support, they suggested that I clear the cache and re-install the app (which caused me to lose all my prior downloaded music).

Agreed and my analogy is imperfect at best. However, assuming I am eating at a fine-dining establishment, why should tips be percentage calculated? Shouldn't the tip amount be the same regardless of whether I order the expensive items on the menu or the (relatively) cheaper ones? Which is basically what Apple's argument boils down to.

FWIW, I don't really have a dog in this race (except as an AAPL stockholder I want the stock to do well). If any judgement mandates that the license fee be charged on the cost of the chip and not the device, then I'd like to see that be extended to the App Store ToS as well.

An analogy for this in the real world would be tips for waiters. As a foreigner, I'm aghast at the tipping culture in the US but more importantly, I fail to understand why tips are calculated on a percentage basis. It is no more effort to bring me out a $60 steak than it is to bring me a $5 coffee. So why should I tip $12 for the steak and $1 for the coffee? To Apple's point, they want a "fixed" tip charge. But then again, Apple charges devs 30% of revenue from their App store when really it's (arguably) no more effort for them to host/monitor a 99-cent app vs. $10 app.

Peter, what advice do you have for Indian nationals on EB2/EB3 GC status given the incredibly long wait times for the priority date to become current?

Is there a good (and legal) way to upgrade to EB1 or similar category (that has shorter wait periods)?

For example, does it make sense to leave the US, work as a manager overseas and return to the US on a L1-A thereby qualifying for a EB1.

Or perhaps work towards publishing papers, applying for patents, etc. to thereby qualify for a NIW?

Anyways, yes, it is a cultural thing. If you do it all the time, it is comfortable enough. What Westerner's perceive as uncomfortable is not uncomfortable at all.

Don't forget that Western style toilets are also a relatively new thing, so sitting Western style is actually less common (but is now common in post modern India).

Also, Indians are generally very fastidious and clean. Paradoxically, India itself is quite dirty since the concept of cleanliness in India is usually limited to one's immediate habitat. Sweeping, dusting and mopping is a daily chore in Indian homes unlike the West.
