In my experience interim CEO are used to make unpopular decisions in the company and then removed, kind of like getting New Coke and then as everyone gets mad you bring back Coke Classic but now with cheaper ingredients and everyone is happy.
Safety and trust. I know in app purchases are handled through apple and if I start a subscription, I know how to easily cancel it. I don't need to worry about my payment information being stolen or held hostage behind a convoluted cancellation process.
So we are going to ignore the slow 3g network aspect in the quote you are referring to then. Sigh.
What other technology is being worked on my so many large companies? It may not be as performant now as other languages but I don't doubt that it will get there. The barrier to entry to build packages is also lower seeing as a lot of developers already know web technologies.
How could you confirm it's not based on their skills? You make it sound like Tesla has a personal grudge and isn't just seeking top tier talent.
