Is it required to register to try and use your service. If I want local AI it is precisely to avoid having to register to a third party service. What am I missing here ?

So you believe the artists responsible for this game graphics do not understand all of this ? Would you care to explain exactly how you came to this conclusion ? Because in my non expert eyes, it looks as good or even better as any old school megadrive game on a CRT.
By the way, some of my favorite games on Megadrive are homebrews, most notably Astebros and other Neofid games.
If you are doing any architectural work, whether at the software or infrastructire level, I fail to see how you can deal without diagrams to 1/ understand interactions between all system components 2/ make your changes understood and validated by relevant people.
Granted I speak about real, useful, technical diagrams, whose purpose is to convey useful information and highlight data flows. Not marketing diagrams you may find on marketing presentations, but this is not what this discussion is about.
something getting close to human intelligence
This seems very very far fetched. If I understand correctly, these cell brains just respond to some stimuli, it does not seem more intelligent than any automat to me, just creepier.
And what do you suggest EU does if Trump decides to invade Greenland ? Going to war against Putin could be considered, but trying to fight both Trump and Putin would be suicidal.
Unfortunately it seems the only option at the moment is to wait for American people to wake up and replace Trump in two years from now ... If they ever have the opportunity to vote again of course.
Well it is open source and they expect the community to add more renderers. So if you are a sveltekit specialist this could actually be an opportunity.
Well all supermarkets here sell vegatables and many of them also sell fish ... And I see nothing about stopping milk consumption in this ad ?
If you eat only vegetables then you are vegan, not vegetarian.
The most surprising fact here is to learn that a few years ago Urbit was actually used by some people.
You mean, nobody except Trump.
As good and reliabe is QNX, I really hope it controls only car infotainment and not brakes !
Excellent game, very addictive ! I noticed it was built with Trickle, so this is pretty impressive if it was all "vibe coded"
If I was an IC at an airplane manufacturer and a bug I wrote caused an airplane crash - who is legally responsible?
I am not sure it is that complicated, from a legal perspective. It is the company hiring you that would be legally responsible. If you are an external consultant, things may get more complicated, but I am pretty sure that for critical mission software companies wouldn't use external consultants (for this particular reason but also many others)
these kids are African royalty. They spoke perfect fluent Japanese and they couldn't get access into bars that would let me in
Let's imagine we discuss a tiny bar in New-York or Paris that wouldn't let asian or black people in. I doubt the discussion would be only about how this place is nice and cosy and everyone that could possibly get in should just try it.
It's like Japanese people have a free pass to be a*holes, but only them, because you know, Japan ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No one that has ever had to work with Lotus Notes could forget it. It was atrocious. Maybe the sync engine was great but I really do not know what it was used for ...
We could see it the other way around : what we call "reasoning" may actually be some kind of multipass rendering, whatever it is performed by computers or human brains.
one person in a group of players maintains the role of a master storyteller, but the AI is ready to fill in details or suggest ways to get the players back on track
As a player and very occasional DM myself, filling in details and trying to get players back on track is where is the fun and challenge. AI could definitely be useful to handle all the paperwork (fight resolution and so on) though
Afaik Strudel is a Tidal javascript port, so not inspired by Glicol since I think Tidal was available way before ? Both are awesome anyway.
Seems like empty words to me ... Thankfully Grothendieck mathematical works are more conclusive and more groundbreaking than his thoughts on personal development !
This might be the best definition I will come across of what it means to be an "IT project manager".
This is the good answer. Also to get even better results you can project on a specific small screen using a mirror so you have an even better image. Due to 8mm low quality there is no gain from scanning.
Absolutely not. It would ruin all the fun otherwise !
This sounds terribly odd to me as a European guy. We hear a lot of stories with US cops unloading their guns at people they feel are a menace, only to realize later these people were actually unarmed or just holding a phone. But if someone gives them a middle finger then it is all fine and cops should do nothing but lower their eyes !?
In France to give the middle finger to a policeman or soldier or any other state representant would be considered an offense. People would be fined for this, and not even our leftists would contest that.
Thanks for pointing out Evolu, both solutions (Triplit and Evolu) seem very interesting. I would also be interested to see a comparison between the two
Actually it depends on what you think is "meaningful". It could be having children, but it also could be discovering a new vaccine, helping other people, or just living a happy life without annoying anyone.
In any case, even if one thinks so, I find it quite rude to say that having a kid is the most meaningful thing you can achieve to someone that may not have children ...
If I may ask, would you have preferred to not come to life, if you had the choice?
You make it sound like it is a heroin shoot.
Actually unless your child has some terrible accident, you're often tired, sometimes angry, but mostly happy.
If your child has no specific issue and you experience terrible sadness and suffering, then you should consult a doctor.
And then there's the transportation issues caused by it being a line instead of a circle
Actually because of the line concept it makes it easier to reach any part of it using a single high-frequency and high-density transportation line. With a circle design you need a lot more transport lines to reach all areas, and not all of them can be high-frequency and/or high density.
People look pretty serious but that's just because of the technology pf photography back then
This is a known misconception. People on old pictures are not smiling because they liked it this way, not because of long exposure times. Same for paintings. Except for Mona Lisa, you were supposed to be dead serious when being immortalized on picture for generations to come.
Reading the white paper, and looking at their other projects (HVM and Kind), I have the feeling they successfully implemented what Urbit [0] tried to do, but in an elegant and efficient way, instead of going the convoluted and obfuscated route ...
Also the last chapters of their white book are interesting reads for anyone interested in blockchain and cryptocurrencies
