I worked for one of the mag7 doing customer support bot tech. Clients internal metrics around containment consistently showed better results than ours - even though you'd normally expect them to be putting pressure on their vendor. because it was a kpi for their internal team to look good to their bosses

Do you worry that AI browser agents (comet etc) will eat this market of light integrations? Since the user is already logged in to various services like linkedin/email etc it's easy for tasks to be scripted together - or fully prompted.

https://Podskim.com is a way to skim through podcasts like a TikTok sans the brain rot. It also has some fact checking and topic monitoring behind the scenes. Haven't figured out a business model for it yet but has been fun to keep poking it

Maybe we could do this with just a voice recorder? writing stuff with a pencil seems unnecessarily laborious - unless the physical part is the point. you still get the mental exercise by trying to understand synopsize, and present the information

LLMs have already replaced some code directly for me eg NLP stuff. Previously I might write a bunch of code to do clustering now I just ask the LLM to group things. Obviously this is a very basic feature native to LLMs but there will be more first class LLM callable functions over time.

Yes this is known etiquette eg in China where voice memos are widely used on WeChat. Sending a voice memo is slightly rude for business as it says I the sender value my time to dash something off more even if it’s inconvenient for you the receiver who has to then stop and listen to it. Between friends is a bit different as voice has a level of personal warmth.

So if a machine was to do the translation, should that also be considered a creative work?

If not, that would put pressure on production companies to use machines so they don’t have to pay future royalties
