No they need to label ads that are AI. Youtube is flooded with scam ads made with AI and they consistently ignore reports. They even pretend to not be able to do anything about ads impersonating people to promote crypto scams.
One important distinction is that the strength of LLMs isn't just in storing or retrieving knowledge like Wikipedia, it’s in comprehension.
LLMs will return faulty or imprecise information at times, but what they can do is understand vague or poorly formed questions and help guide a user toward an answer. They can explain complex ideas in simpler terms, adapt responses based on the user's level of understanding, and connect dots across disciplines.
In a "rebooting society" scenario, that kind of interactive comprehension could be more valuable. You wouldn’t just have a frozen snapshot of knowledge, you’d have a tool that can help people use it, even if they’re starting with limited background.

Yes, you frequently can tell. There appears to be a number of people doing some form of automation with different degrees of success. Even though it's a clever use of software and when you're hiring for a software engineer it should be promising, it gets annoying and you tend to discard it. I wouldn't suggest attempting it unless you can do it extremely well if it's fully automated, or use it to help simplify the process, but still complete the last steps manually.
We've had a tendency now to introduce a request for a simple bit of information in the job posting as a sort of captcha to filter out automated spamming of applications.
