There should be some browser-level enforcement of this. For example, it would seem possible to detect a user frustratingly mashing the back button, and offer a remediation dialog to disable any hackery that's hijacking the back buttons.

A side note: I am very sad that HDMI-CEC apparently can only support like 3 "console-like" devices. I have an Apple TV, Nintendo Switch 2, Sound Bar (eARC) and PS5 hooked up, but only 3 can really interact with CEC.

It took me a long time to diagnose why it seemingly wouldn't work with my Nintendo Switch 2.

I ended up disabling it on my PS5 because I never use the darn thing, but it kind of stinks since most TV's have 4 HDMI inputs.

The key that is punched into the input field is based on where your finger lifted up. So if you have slide-to-type on, the pop-up paddle that showed up on key-down won't change to where your finger slid to for key-up. That's why when typing fast with slide-to-type on you can get confusing UI hints like this.

It kind of seems like the grace period for the paddle hiding with slide-to-type needs adjustment. I just leave slide-to-type off.

I'd bet a lot of this behavior is heavily correlated with how we generally read top to bottom, which is in itself, probably an arbitrary decision made by ancient text writers.

Big steak fan here.

Many times I've ordered a large cut of meat, like a porter house or a tomahawk (usually intended to be shared with the table), they have came pre sliced. I'm pretty sure even Peter Luger's will pre slice it for you even for an individual.

They used to produce some neat stuff. Jaeger and Cadence were quite cool.

TPM can measure the Secure Boot state for later reporting (attestation) but when it comes to DRM, that’s not a terribly interesting bit of information, knowing the firmware and kernel are valid, when the configuration of the OS and installed applications is really the important part.

As far as I know there’s no real scalable way for that to work in the Windows ecosystem.

This sort of absolutism is the same kind of garbage middle-school level philosophy that Elon Musk peddles, and it doesn't work in practice. For example, holocaust denialism, or in the most recent example, Sandy Hook massacre denialism isn't an opposing viewpoint worth hosting on a private platform. The best course of action is to simply eradicate it. Infowars being shutdown is a great example of a good thing happening.

I don't think we should, nor do I think it's healthy. Some viewpoints are horrific and should absolutely be suppressed.

The first release set should be downloadable now for inspection. (It's binaries only, source is released for select components)

I've had similar experiences. I've basically disengaged any form of AI code generation. I do find it useful to pointing me to interesting/relevant symbols and API's however, but it doesn't save me any time connecting plumbing, nor is that really a difficult thing for any programmer to do.
