Hmmm, most of my friends' animals (pets) kept at home, medicated, fed "pet food" and "clean" water, tend to be significantly sicker than my outside-kept animals, and always seem to have a short lifespan. They have certainly had the runs more often than my outside-only-"kept" animals. My cats literally drink stagnant water every single day, algae, bacteria, various protozoa and all. We have standards and codes, but I've worked on many new construction sites where nobody gave 2 shits about what, how, or why. They threw shit together, and as long as it looked close enough, it even passed inspections (always another job site to go to after this one after all). I personally know of many $1 Million+ houses in the Chicago area, that house some very shocking surprises inside their walls.

I've also had some old old hardwood window frames, and they've been by far the most resilient...but really same goes for all hardwood materials. Starlink is the only game in town for me at this point for broadband: my only other option is DSL from Centurylink at 3Mb/.5Mb - they've had 30 years to improve service here and hundreds of millions in taxpayer subsidies, and they haven't done it. I've been in this "industry" for near 25 years. I'm in the US (though not American), but in that time I've rarely worked with Americans on my direct or adjacent teams (they're definitely a minority in tech, and I've worked from 12-person startups, to 300K-person giants). I've even worked for some of the body-shop-outsourcers you've referenced and have been the one providing the outsourcing. I understand this is anecdotal, but I have never seen any outsourcing or offshoring contract that didn't cause the quality of a product or service to go to shit. Quality isn't even usually quantified and defined in most offshoring contracts (at least ones where I've worked). The amount of downright fraud involved in the providers, where for example, we were supposed to provide service X for 5 years, but really we've just told the customer we did, and now we're going to retroactively go back 5 years and adjust some engineer's timesheets, is both common and staggering.

In most states, they absolutely do the same tests. We are, most often, required to by the state. The tests are provided (mostly) by the same two companies that provide the testing materials for the majority of end of year public school testing.

Thank you for stating the truth. No, if anything, the schools have gotten only worse from the statements we hear and behavior we see of our kids' public-schooled friends. I'm amazed at how normalized social abuse is in public schools in the US. When I talk to other parents about my amazement, they just stare, blink, and respond with "I don't think it is a big deal. This is how we all talk and treat each other.". :-O My wife and I have home schooled our kids from their educational beginnings because of how bat-shit crazy and anti-social public schools were and continue to be.

Why would I use inputs, when I can feed a mixed herd of goats, sheep, chickens and pigs to eat your rose and wild parsnip and turn it into food for my family, neighbors and community? But sure, if you want to pay me, I will take payment. At the end of my herd's eating and working your soil, you'll have plenty of manure, green manure (ultimately), and should be ready for planting whatever you want. This is exactly what I do with wild parsnip today. I don't eradicate multiflora rose, but instead, propagate it where I can. My hives work it with great delight, and it makes an unbelievable-tasting honey. Obviously, its also a great edible for us humans, and makes a fantastic tea.

That's not something I would seek out answers on, as it is simple to figure out at home, and when you do get to an allergist, you will likely hear something very useless like "yeah you're allergic to at least some degree to these 17-25 different things; please try to limit exposure". :-D

I agree. Doctors' performance will remain the same as it has for thousands of years: overall, not so good. But, they've been using AI systems for well near a decade, especially in triage and real-time transcriptions. I haven't met many that don't love AI already in their day to day work.
