I have seen a number of China-related thread reach HN's frontpage, with lots of comments, only to sink 10 pages within minutes. I believe that some users are gaming the auto-moderation tools by engaging in a downvote war in these threads to have them marked as flamebait and downranked. It doesn't have to be only paid trolls, just enough people unaware of the Tien An Men massacre and Mao's crimes.
Sadly this makes it look like HN is soft-censoring China-related threads...If I were a mod (and if I'm not wrong) I'd be very curious of the downvoting patterns in these cases.
Since publishing the Snowden files in 2013, TG has significantly changed course and crippled their investigative branch, as detailed here:

In essence they got rid of their nosey investigate journalists and replaced them with noisy columnists.
On a related note, Mosfilm has a Youtube channel with high quality version of many of their films, including most Tarkovsky. The channels is all in Russian but English sub are typically available, and search works in English too.
With regards to copyrights, it seems all films released after 1973 are covered by it, however the laws between ex-Soviet countries differ. Sources:

I would encourage people to use legal means to watch these movies, especially in Europe where many of them have been re-published legally with English subs, often by small/indie companies.

Agreed. An example of this would be the mention of rival engine Unity in part 6:
"But Unity, the most widely deployed engine for small/mobile games, deploys a flat “per seat” fee for its engine. As a result, for users with a Unity Pro license, even a game with $1,000 in revenue would generate revenue for the company."
This is inacurrate, in fact Unity previously waived these fees for the first few thousand dollars of revenue earned, and with their current plan it looks like licencing is free of charge for dev generating less than 100k/year.
