Correct. You can backup a game when offline, but steam wont allow you to restore one without being logged in.
In regards to 4) typing 'define word' without the : should work just fine.
It "should" be considerably more powerful as it's designed to not only run ubuntu touch but also a full fledged ubuntu when its plugged into a monitor.

I wouldn't say GTK+ is next, unity2D is discontinued and Ubuntu One is only made in QT because they use the same client for windows and mac.

Personally I don't get the whole fast/slow argument it seems people bring up every time a web browser is mentioned. They all seem to perform comparably. I use firefox only because it allows me to group and hide my ~80 tabs and only loads the ones i'm using.
