But Fiat currencies also inflate/deflate. Just that that rate is slower comparatively that's why it is reasonable to rely on them in short span of time.
In long run if you aren't accounting for inflation/deflation then you are on losing end. For example, how often we hear that $10000 for that period..buy much more in today's world.
PS: I am not trying to argue but putting across a counter point. I am not an expert niether in crypto or in economics.
