https://watchmy.cloud/ - a smoke detector for your AWS bill
Remember the joke that there are two types of people: those who do backups, and those who will? I think it's the same with AWS billing alerts.
I was looking for a real pain point to solve. After scraping Reddit, I realized many people struggle with the exact same thing that happened to me: I launched a big AWS EC2 instance alongside AWS Bedrock, played with it for a bit, got called into an urgent meeting, and... forgot about it. 2 weeks later, a bill for ~$1,700 showed up. Ouch.
Sure, AWS has Cost Explorer, and you can manually set up CloudWatch alarms or AWS Budgets — assuming you remember to set them up. There are also complex FinOps platforms with heavy dashboards and consulting.
But I wanted something dead simple. A tool that doesn't require complex setup or another dashboard nobody looks at, but simply alerts you where you actually spend your day — Slack, Jira, SMS/Text — when something looks off, pinpointing where costs suddenly skyrocketed (compute, storage, data transfer). Like a huge instance spawned on Friday afternoon still running, leaked API keys suddenly adding thousands to your bill, or k8s autoscaling working "too well".
I just launched it and would love to hear your thoughts or feedback!
