This is a common issue, and most developers I worked with are not aware of it until they see the performance issues.

Most people are not aware of how Dapper maps types under the hood; once you know, you start being careful about it.

Nothing to do with LLMs, just plain old learning through mistakes.

I am never going back.

For some reason, it sounds like someone being held against their will, which is exactly how I feel about it too

I don't think diversity in a software ecosystem is a bad idea. Nothing is stopping Hugging Face from changing their terms and screwing us over

There are many pull requests trying to implement this feature, and they don't even care to reply. This is the only reason I'm still using llama.cpp serve instead of this.

wow, i had the same experience. reaching my 40s and decided to drop all the cool kids stuff. i used to have emacs/scheme evangelist phases in my life, now i do all my coding using enterprise languages and tools.

i have never been so productive.

I've been working for the same company for 12 years, same role, same position.

Why did i stay? i was the only dev for like 8 years, being responsible for your work and not being able to blame someone for legacy code is an eye opener.

it makes you love your craft even more, i joined to start a port, turns out this porting process never ends (I like improving my own code).

Fear of Macros 12 years ago

before this article i didn't want to touch scheme macros.

he does a great job by introducing macros using basic syntax transformers, every other tutorial failed for me by introducing define-syntax-rule before explaining how it worked.

Like i said before.. this is not a world wide social problem, my college was almost half boys, half girls. The highest grade was a girl, why? not because she was a girl.. but because she was freaking smart.

Its like african americans complaining about racism, i don't get it.. they are the coolest thing on earth right now!! Ignore that uneducated minority and move on.

Gender problems depends a lot on where are you living.

That's not the case where i live in, why? because we do not care about such things, treat woman and man the same way. unlike the old american racism, in modern countries there are no laws that discriminate girls.. why should we teach our daughters to fight for something that's not a problem?

Education is all we need, why should they hide their code? they should be proud of it

That last paragraph is exactly the reason i hate this sexist talks, it doesn't matter if its the boys or girls that are complaining..

I don't know if that's the case in the place you are living right now but, if you think that being a boy or a girl its an advantage then you are part of that problem..

Boys will always be boys, ignore them and move on.

so you're saying that just by using jquery i dont have to test on every possible browser version and mobile too? i dont know what kind of jquery i been using but i do that everyday.

thats the exact reason i used to love mootools, but too many companies demand for jquery even if they arent going to do any coding.

before the library war started (prototype, jquery and mootools) i picked mootools for that exact reason, after so many lines written against that library i cant understand why jquery won in the end.
