Used this as my daily driver for dev work for years, works great. Only downside is it doesn't do emoji rendering well

Jobs offered to buy them in 2009 when AAPL stock was around $5 a share (obviously a lot of splits happened), compared to today's price of over $120 so that $1B in stock would be around $25B, more than double Dropbox market cap

I've tried a few of them and always end up a bit disappointed since you have to spend a ton of time being very specific with the task, otherwise the person on the other side inevitably does a mediocre job at best since the incentive is to do as many task as quickly as possible, since they're paid per task

It took a while to get there, but this is the right call. All the other big conferences have cancelled, holding this would have been terrible PR.

Question is: How far out does your conference have to be for you to not cancel right now?

Really excited about this, I miss the days of static server-side logs!

Pricing is a bit high for my super-low-traffic hobby sites, unfortunately. But I'm glad they're doing this!

Wow, Linux support. I guess that's useful for those times when the OS package manager is out of date? Or is it in order to not run as root?

I charge clients similarly. I overbid projects that I don't really want to do. If you want me to setup Wordpress for you, I'll charge you out the nose. Granted, you get to accept my fees before I ever send you a bill. It's not a perfect analogy.

One can always forgo setting up WordPress, which is not always the case with healthcare.

Not OP, but have had to buy insurance as a freelancer before.

Do you have a family? Health insurance prices are far, far higher if you have a family.

The type of coverage you can by as an individual is also inferior to those you get access to at large companies, so it can be harder to get in-network coverage.

Web scraping is such an underappreciated art. Unfortunately, it's harder and harder to do little hobby projects since many sites will quickly ban you.

I was working on a music project, trying to use Rate Your Music as the data source. Got banned before even hitting 50 requests (less than one a minute). I should have checked their TOS first ...
