I recently realized this as well and I think what I’ve discovered is that AI just produces mediocre content in all realms, but you don’t really notice it except in the realms where you have real expertise. With a lot of harness and prompting you can have it pump out something that’s pretty good but by default the next best token rarely produces anything of quality it seems like and if you think it does, perhaps you may want to recheck your assumptions on your expertise of the topic at hand

Honest question how could they possibly train on this as there are no good SVG pelicans to train off right? So they’re just training off a bunch of bad ones which should lead to just bad pelicans, but the pelicans are getting better.
Still true today for AWS.
I would say you should assume your models are constantly being attacked by various forms of prompt injection. By that token (puns) if you treat all models as adversarial you’d probably taking a very sane approach. That said - evidence of this sort of thing should be easy to find and report on. The fact we haven’t seen it leads me to believe it is not there.
That’s interesting. I wonder if that’s a byproduct of the strong Indian influences? I would imagine its popular there as well.
Because there was no homeless before government programs.
It’s like history was the first casualty of late stage capitalism and no one knows about the new deal or the war on poverty.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
If you’ve been keeping track of all of the pelicans, there is actually stylistic differences - sometimes pretty big differences as far as watercolors go. It’s an SVG so I’m not sure what you’re looking for there. Most look the same because the prompt is to make a pelican on a bicycle as an SVG. It’s not some giant image prompt.
It’s very difficult to be for the people and also get hundreds of millions of dollars from wealthy donors. That is the democratic party’s plight.
If the former can develop the latter, then the former.
I’ve noticed a lot of big corporations doing this and I think the reasoning behind it is it’s really easy to say you shipped a product on your résumé. If all you did was change the name of it. It actually takes a lot of work and time to ship a new innovative product.
Not sure if planned but seems more lime Okta workflows than n8n.
Which multi trillion dollar company are we talking about here?
You’re right, Apple only has 68 billion dollars in cash, up 40% since last year. Definitely on their last legs.
A problem is AI by default is not very good at anything. It’s pretty mediocre. With a good harness and a lot of prompting/context - you can get it to spit something out that’s pretty good. Coders have been learning and fighting this fight for a couple of years now.
The issue is that it’s not just code - they suck at writing. Really bad. Unreadable, incoherent, messy.
Humans are also bad at judging the quality of things they themselves aren’t very good at. So a senior swe sees what claude spits out and says “This is trash.” And spends x amount of time getting it to not be trash. And Jr dev thinks “this is magic!” And pushes it to a PR.
So my theory is the people “writing” this AI slop think its great! But actually just aren’t very good at writing copy and don’t have the skill to recognize it and prompt their way out of it.
Or they don’t care. That’s an option as well.
PS for anyone reading, next time AI does something that you aren’t super familiar with that looks pretty good… maybe find an expert to review it.
Having an AI blog post in response to “Hey your website is unintelligible because of it being written by AI” isn’t probably the vibe you want. Deep thoughts - unlikely.
porkbun are great
What I’ve discovered is for things I’m good at when AI takes a first shot at it I think “this is pretty mediocre “ and can guide it to something pretty good. If I’m less skilled on what it’s working on I tend to think “Hey this is pretty good!” But then I remember the former and then realize I don’t really have the skill to judge and that the work done is probably just… ok at best.
I generally apply this thinking when I hear people talking about using AI and their results and what I know about their skill levels.
Thousands of years… christian nations… educate yourself… hmm
Or a dynamic workflow. $$$ but lots of coverage.
And yet... only one is any good.
I just want to chime in. “Basically nobody” is not nobody. Usually when people speak about these tax rates they are looking at too 1% tax receipts but the ultra wealthy .01% certainly got a payday with Reagan subsequent tax cuts have benefited them tremendously. https://economicsinsider.com/us-wealth-inequality-1965-2025/ has a nice graph. The paydays for the extremely wealthy do not tend to pop up on reports because we do not report down to that level - most top out at too 1% or .1%. But those with the most money and ability to influence our lives with it having been having a //great// few decades.
I’ll give it a shot!

This brought up an inadvertent benchmark I accidentally made between the big three AIs. I had them all research an old BBS i used to use, hunting for a DOOR game i played on it. I gave details about the bbs that i could remember and a pretty well defined description of the game and threw it at the deep researchers to see what they could fine.
ChatGPT gave me about a ten page report on who ran the bbs and the name of the game. When I looked into it the game was totally different and the guy named had nothing to do with the bbs. “Since these were both popular items at the time, I just inferred.” But it had fabricated the entire report. Nothing in it was true.
Gemini did the same thing but the report was about twenty pages. 100% hallucinated.
Claude said it couldn’t find any information.
Best advertisement I’ve ever lived.
I still hunt for the door game today….
Just a quick note that native windows extract is 32bit and dies on archives gt 4gb. Use 7zip or something to extract in case you happen to be using that one.
Which AI company have you learned more about where you liked them more as more details came out?
There are lots of MLM and pyramid schemes worth billions of dollars. Doesn’t means they aren’t scams.
They also spent a ton of money to get an unchangeable law passed in their favor to bypass employment regulations.
Of course we do, we were doing them until about the mid-70s and then the ultra-wealthy figured out how to game the system and we got “Greed is Good” Geckos running things since.
