Does this type of ray tracing book exist? It’s something never learned about and would love to know what courses or books others have found valuable

“They sent a few emails soliciting donations” isn’t exactly a horror story in my experience. Seems hardly worth mentioning!

I also live here but that doesn’t give me crystal ball-like insight into what every single fed and fed-adjacent employee is feeling. It’s a fairly big city! Do you work in the federal space? I have acquaintances who do and their mood doesn’t quite match the hysteria you see on e.g. the regional subreddits.

If you get the paid version then customization is an option, just FYI. Not sure when this was introduced but it’s been working well for me.

Popover API 2 years ago

Saw an interesting case of this type of attack in the CounterStrike community earlier this week.

Someone setup a fake tournament website that asked the user to login with their Steam account. Then it launched what looked like a new browser window with the Steam login page, but was actually just a popover that had been elaborately styled, with window decorations and all.

I’d argue that the degree of portability implied by the term is very much context dependent. “Portable between Linux systems” is a perfectly valid use of the term, imo.

Do you take portable to mean a program that can run on every processor arch and OS available?

You posted the same theory above, except there you included the important disclaimer that you have no inside information — is this just a hunch that you have? Because it seems like a Hanlon’s razor type of situation to me. Without some sort of evidence of the fraud you speak of, it seems far more likely to be them simply struggling with challenges of scale. Every business deals with bad employees but the majority of people with jobs tend to want to keep their job. It’s hard for me to imagine that fraud is the dominating cause here.

What the GP explained is commonly true when it comes to interacting with other humans, with only a few exceptions. You can complain about human nature being counter productive all you want, but refusing to adapt to this reality and foregoing fundamental soft skills is, ironically, even more counter productive.
