It's only a problem at a really large scale. At the scale of Microsoft or Facebook, there are factors that lead to the use of a monorepo being more efficient. At that big of a scale, companies have enough resource to develop internal tooling to deal with the problem (e.g. the use of Mercurial at Facebook).

My point is every government has some degree of influence on their companies. How much is another question. However in my opinion Huawei cannot be as innovative as they are with as much influence from their government as people here often suggest.

Nothing wrong with that. It doesn't imply a lack of innovation as well. They provide a good enough improvement on all software, hardware and service fronts to keep customer buying year on year.

A lack of a new breakthrough product doesn't mean lack of innovation from Apple. In my opinion it only means two things:

- The technology is not there yet for a new "iPhone" type of breakthrough.

- The expectation of people on Apple is so high considering their success in the past decade.
