I think any project is a good one - service a purpose. I have been writing small programs to fill my needs for like 3 years, improvee them and share with my coworkers, you can use github for a lot of stuffs i.e. I have my webpage code in github there are no real constraints here.

I just feel in the same way. But I have a little experience, 2 years, after 3, current 7 months and the feel of going to slow is very frustrating. I'll recommend talk to your manager's and change of project or move to other area that create new stuffs maybe that will help if can't happen move on. I myself don't like the people that change very often of work.

I think that the difference between those is, the Software Engineer (SE) is capable of create and design further than follow instructions or a specific language, and programmer (P) is like coding only maybe one or two languages but with a limit view of the application/services etc.

I think are similar but I see a SE with more potential to develop things, a P too, but I think his scope is limited to what he/she knows, no go further.

One point I see here is when a senior developer move to management role, I have a opportunity right now and its hard to try to imagine loosing what I like most for a non-technical position.

I find this quite interesting, just what is the diference between a SOA arch and a micro service arch, maybe just the size of the "atomic" services?

I haven't read all the article, but it looks very close to the daily-work I have had for 3 years. I agree with almost every aspect, and also I will take good tips from here.

I have been using Jboss since a couple of years, in its version 5.1 that is robust and "flexible", but this new version seems to be fast and customizable. Features like changing ports and real authentification are easy to set up reading the doc a little. Mayble in a couple of months it will be stable and the "only eap fixed bugs" will come to the community version, in that time I would choose it.

Today one guy in my local news (Monterrey, Mexico) talk about it, that "tech guy" said that netflix and other services were intermitent or fail to access, and also that this "war" were between cyberbunker and Spamhaus. I think this is not completly true, but he spoke if this kind of things would be the next kind of wars in the following years and recommendo to the people a good antivirus and a firewall.

I really admire what cloudflare did, and help the not too tech guys to understand how this things works, if cloudflare were promoting himself with this posts well they need to eat and educate their children is normal their behavior.

I live in Monterrey , México, The city go on, but the people is full of fear, that fear that no one could take, neither the police or the military, we just live our lives avoiding conflictive zones and trying to handle it. Specially in this city the people have some guilty of part of it, we have a sense of "work if you want something" that idea come from our founders, but the lack of education, lack of tv content (here is very important), there is a extreme sense of religion in the zone that's other factor many of them don't try to understand why are in that way, just live their empty life's having beer and roast meat, watching soccer...

Is hard to tell how, but I think the problem is beyond the drugs is social, cultural and political, all of that combine did the big problem we have.
