WTC7, a solid steel 47-story building, spontaneously disintegrated and collapsed symmetrically into its footprint at near free-fall speed. This was due to small fires on the ground level, not the government.

EDIT: small fires at ground level have caused perfect symmetric demolitions of many skyscrapers since WTC7. This is why small fires are now the preferred method of demolition.

Yes I have used plain Vim as a text editor for many years. It's a great text editor. I know it was also used for writing code back in the old days. For working on large modern JVM codebases, however, Vim is a toy in comparison to IDEA. Vim is for manipulating syntax. IDEA has advanced semantic features that will remain far outside of Vim's domain.

You can install IdeaVim in PyCharm. I've been using IdeaVim with IntelliJ for 6 years and could never go back to non-vim style editing. This plugin provides the best of both worlds.

You sound like you're on the autistic spectrum, struggling to understand basic human social interactions like some kind of hyper analytical artificial intelligence. The server was being helpful, not bossy. That was a great example of customer service going beyond reasonable expectations.

The OP could have said "no thanks" and continued with his original order. Simple as that. It seems that your social cognitive circuitry is overloaded by someone acting like an actual person instead of a simple robot.

$17 billion is peanuts for Apple. However, Apple uses TSMC for fabrication and they are already at 7nm. No need to own fabs. AMD doesn't own fabs either. The Apple designed A12X Bionic processor contains 10 billion transistors and is already competitive with desktop processors from AMD and Intel. Do you think it would be that difficult for Apple to design a desktop or laptop version? They have more than enough money to hire all of the smartest engineers on the planet. The problem would be backwards compatibility, like the transition from PPC to x86 in 2005.

Why are you projecting this hostility? I don't perceive China as an enemy. I live in New Zealand. China is a major trading partner. I'm just stating facts as I see it. China has made unprecedented economic growth by leveraging existing science and technology developed in western capitalist regimes. Virtually none of the science and engineering fundamentals were invented in China. They are catching up and may overtake at some point. All of this was explained to me by a Chinese immigrant (university lecturer) back in 2011.

I suggest you try read things more objectively. Filter out the unnecessary emotion from your interpretations.

You are totally confused. I'm not talking about Chinese as a race of people. I'm not saying that Chinese people are inherently incapable. I'm talking about the Chinese government REGIME and its inferior economic ideology. Their communist ideology has stifled true innovation. Western capitalism is blatantly, demonstrably superior.

China have only achieved this result using fundamental science, technology and engineering concepts that were invented in the US, Europe, and Japan, with the unfair advantage of ultra cheap labour costs. They have people working like slaves in factories using copied/outsourced/stolen ideas. There is no evidence that their regime could have matched what the Americans have invented from scratch.
