All the commentary here and no one has mentioned Google's effort to automate a similar task: building 360° rotations of children's toys for holiday shopping. [1]

I'm curious: What could another viable business model be for a search engine?
Back in the days of something like the yellow pages, it was also an advertising supported model (or pay-for-placement, something that might damage the credibility of a search engine). What I also found very interesting is the term 'yellow pages' is in the top 5 highest revenue generating search terms. [1]
The filtering/search interface on this looks really interesting.
Recently I've been using (and am very happy with) RockMongo [1], a drop-in PHP solution that doesn't require its own database.
It was about context: The item in question appeared under the heading "Great Perks" – as if to say that women were one of the 'perks' in question.
Out of context, it appears as though they're addressing women directly. In context, they're offering women as a 'perk' to a male dominated event crowd.
I've had decent sucess with pandoc (http://johnmacfarlane.net/pandoc/). MutiMarkdown also allows you to put raw LaTeX inline if you specify the right flags.

There's an interesting book on the topic, focusing on the way human behavior affects traffic patterns. It's similar to other behavioral anthropology books like Dan Ariely's 'Predictably Irrational'.
