While you’re at it, how about ability to listen to a folder of shuffled playlists on mobile? Would also be nice to be able listen to a folder of playlists sorted by recent adds. Less shuffling of the UI and some real feature requests implemented please.

No thanks. I’ve used Firefox since the beginning and never took to Chrome etc. Use Brave on iOS so guess I’ll be seeing how that and other alternatives are on Mac. I’d be willing to pay some bucks a month. I’m not willing to have the area of the browser that should be signal littered with noise.

Yep. I've been listening to podcasts since Twitter was the podcast directory Odeo. Also, have been djing for much longer so mixing these worlds in Spotify's ever-changing UI is just a mess. I pay for Spotify premium, but now get ads what seems like every ten minutes in the "premium ad free experience" during his podcast. Often, skipping back 15 seconds to hear something again will trigger ads.

This and even if they are behaving that can change anytime, especially in nature. This is coming from someone who just broke an elbow because of off leash dogs on a trail. Trail allowed bikes and dogs on leash. Dogs were on the side of the trail sniffing, caught wind of something else and immediately jumped in front of bike. I was going slow and watching them like a hawk. Dodged one and couldn’t the other. Owners were on a jog and literally ran off after asking if I was ok once. If the trail says keep dogs on leash , there might be a good reason.

This, and the World’s app appetite in general. I’ve noticed them up their maker game in various ways with other apps like CapCut which makes video editing very easy and is owned by the same company as Tik Tok. People made a big stink about Tik Tok’s privacy, but there are so many apps still in there with sensitive info going through PRC servers. Marginnote is another app that is so good for research on iOS. I was reading a very obscure book with it while also on the Marginnote beta. I quit testing and noticed months later, in promotional material, the book I was reading was displayed as an example in the iOS store. Could have been coincidence, but the odds are quite low. They are gaining in cool tech soft power quickly.

Last week I asked him a question on MobileRead. Something simple that I overlooked on the UI and he could have been snippy about it. He answered the same day and was cool about it. In fact, I’ve probably asked 15 questions there over the years and he’s always been quick to respond and polite.

Yea this is awkward. It will then often show you a “partial” list of the available updates so you might have to swipe down a couple times to see the full list.

I also know the long press shortcut to get to updates, but often forget that. As well as the copy/paste swipe gestures.

This author and book are in almost every quote category last time I checked “ Criss Jami, Killosophy.” Often multiple times in the same category. He has some ok quotes, but rarely are they the same caliber of others, especially not in every category. Seems the quote area has been gamed too. I contacted goodreads and they didn’t seem to care.

I haven’t drank or done drugs in a long time, listening to and making music is my drug. That said, I did do a couple very small micro doses while in Tokyo with the intention of walking through from one listening bar to another. That was quite a trip.

I agree, there are cultural and market issues at play. It should as simple as would you drive this person y/n, or anything less arbitrary than the current. I spent some time in foreign markets where Uber no longer exists and my rating took a hit for not knowing the language or being a foreigner, or something. There should be a way to at least correct that.

Add to that, in the states now some drivers will rate lower if you don’t tip. I mostly tip and the one and only time I’ve rated a driver low was when he was blasting music, twitching and doing some disco move right turns that were frightening to everyone in the car.

I use the app “launcher” at the top of the iOS widget area with slots that are pre-filled in templates that append to specific Evernote notes via email.

Also, use a Siri voice shortcuts that launch specific Evernote notes. Have a Siri voice shortcut that transcribes what I say and appends to a specific note. Many solutions to get stuff into Evernote on iOS and I’m sure Android too. Paper is still superior at times, but stuff ends up in EN eventually.

Getting stuff into it isn’t a problem I have with it.

I’ve been using Evernote since it came out and have about 19,000 notes in it. They’ve been slow going at adding new features or at least making it super stable and it’s starting to feel dated.

I’d like to see: ability to put tags to sections of other notes, ability to put links to notebooks within a note, collapsible/expandable text blocks, recurring reminders, Apple Pencil support for iPad where you can freehand draw instead of having to import from Notability/Goodnotes, quicker access to text colors on mobile and desktop.

I’ve tried all the competitors and keep reluctantly coming back to EN. Notability was the one I liked the best, but it is super slow and it can’t be used offline on mobile. Evernote has gotten a lot better on iOS in the last year and I’m still paying to use it until something better comes along, which I don’t anticipate will be long. I hope they step it up.

I knew someone who’s former partner called him a narcissist solely because he’d randomly walk places or go to different coffee shops depending on if one was busy, or if one was just near a park where he wanted to exercise etc. She believed this after watching a YouTube video titled “narcissists live in the moment.” Strange times for a person to be called that when all they want to do is have a human moment outside of online connection and algorithms.

I’ve tried AirPods, which sounded ok, but they fall out. The included headphones don’t sound good (and also fall out) compared to any of the headphones I already own. I’ve been to the Apple store four times in the last year and had to sit and wait to get a dongle replaced. Once, while in another country the adaptor just quit working. They had a certified Apple store, but the dongle was out of stock so I had to wait four days for one. The second day of waiting was in a motorcycle accident which left me in a hospital bed with no headphones.

I start a lot of audio/visual sketches on iPad I can’t use Bluetooth headphones because of the quality and latency...

Get it together Apple, I’m really tired of this dongle adaptor’s poor quality and the kludgy nature of Bluetooth.

For the general public to catch on to whatever the next Evernote is, I think it will have to have; inviting visual elements like Notion, collapsible text like workflowy, better reminder/project management. So many of the top feature requests of Evernote that have been neglected, some since nearly the beginning.

What I’d really like to see are the plugins available on mobile. Most days are spent looking at the laptop screen for too long and grinding out an Anki session on the same laptop often takes a large dose of willpower. Doesn’t stop me from loving it and using it, I just use it less than I would.

Just a heads up, you can google Flashcard decks for flying exams. I've seen them out there and you can import into Anki.

My question: I have hundreds text files that are solely highlights I want to remember. I’ve made my own cards (for other things) for years and know that’s a best practice, but for this I want to automate the process more. Anyone have a suggestion to format long texts into many cards as quickly as possible? Script, Keyboard macro, or just general method?

There is a lot of decent free material on quizlet, you just have to dig. I prefer to import it into Flashcards deluxe http://orangeorapple.com/Flashcards/ because it's easy and even after years of using Anki, I still can't stand it's interface.

Yep, I've used Anki for years and moved over to Flashcards deluxe because after a few months on both noticed little difference in its algorithm compared to Anki. I find the mobile interface of Flashcards deluxe to be a whole lot less kludgy than Anki and the developer to be a whole lot more responsive.

I've had three Kindles and while I like the convenience of them, there is something about a regular book that absorbs me into the page better. The strange grey/blue tint and any sort of lighting whether front or back, for me, is irritating enough that I don't absorb information or get lost in a story as well.

I like the Voyage alright, but I want the ability to turn the light ALL the way off, not just to a minimum. I still have one and use it, they just really need improve on these things so it feels less like just another screen, and more like a book.

I've got a bad habit with tabs that Chrome doesn't enable. The only solution I've found that works is to use Tab Mix Plus and set it to allow up to nine rows of tabs. Once I start getting past about three rows it starts to shut out the viewable screen space and I up saying F this and going on a deleting spree, or bookmarking all open tabs.

The second reason I don't use Chrome is with a logitech mouse on Mac, there are no good gesture extensions that I know of that will allow me to right-click / scroll wheel to zoom through open tabs. Actually, all gesture extensions seem crippled in some way or another.

I recently took some classes at city college in SF as well. One of my professors teaches the same class at Stanford and said he doesn't water the curriculum down for the CC class.

I agree with others that this has a lot to do with location. The classes I took were as rigorous as any other non-community college I've attended outside the bay area.

Latest Macbook Pro here and have that same WIFI issue. I still have 5 year old Lenovo with windows 7 on it that is just as, if not more, stable than the Mac.

On Mac things like Alfred (probably will drop this for the new spotlight), better touch tool, some capabilities like ability to swap USB MIDI controllers without restarting OS are cool. Honestly though, performance wise there isn't that much difference between my Mac and Win Machines and being in programs full screen most of the day I notice much difference at all. The really flexible information moving things I've grown accustomed to on Win seem a bit crippled on Mac because of lack of a filesystem.

I've followed and contributed to some questions on Quora that have I've gained useful life and business knowledge from. Saying that, I like to add random bits to Evernote and it drives me nuts you can't copy ANY text from Quora's IOS apps, not even a sentence. That kind of scarcity mentality bugs me enough that I no longer use it.

What I'd like to see is the ability to append to a current note like you can with the Drafts app to Evernote. Simplenote I can't do this as far as I can tell, and I prefer the simplicity and speed of it to Evernote.

Also, the ability to bold text would allow me to ditch them both and use one app (I'd settle for underlining or highlighting even). Best of luck on your app.
