Man it's so unfortunate that this launch coincided with the component crisis, forcing the prices to be just outside the range of people that were debating between getting this and getting a console, it would've made so much more of an impact if the prices were $200 lower.
Go or bust.
I'll be really honest, I was running out of time on a mid size ticket at work. Basically swapping ~50 models from Go native to Protobuf messages, preserving some sane defaults we had in some already declared `.pb`s. I let it do it, it one shotted it, then I thought "hmm, would be nice for it to keep a changelog of big changes it does for me from now on so I don't have to keep reminding myself. I told it, and it created a hook for itself to do just that. From that chat onwards, every change bigger than what it considered "trivial" got added to an `AGENT_CHANGELOG.md`.
That got me hooked.
Eyy, I stumbled upon this website when I was 10, glad to see it’s still up!
Not offline for me
Still looking for a nicer solution to just deploy some personal projects that are usually 1 container big but might end up being 2-4, and being able to do logging, tracing, rolling updates, networking, etc; For now using Docker Compose for most of that.
This also happened heavily under the Romanian communist regime. My parents were first hand witness to that.
You know how yawning is also a social function, and seeing someone yawn makes you yawn? I just got forced into a good neurofluid flow reorganization session just by reading the title.
So glad I upgraded my PC right before this.
Vibe merge review it using Copilot or equivalent, and then close it :)
What are the specifics of the SSDs you chose? I understand you have to go for specific types/models to make sure they don't melt down too quickly.
HA HA HA HA HA I really hope the C-suite that decided this gets no bonus and hopefully a salary cut this year. Stupid, anti-consumer measures like this need proper consequences so they stop happening. Until then, let's keep boycotting companies with anti-consumer practices.
502: Bad Gateway - Host Error. Hilarious
Don't ask me why but I did feel a tiny bit bummed out after getting 50 and being told I'm in the 68th percentile out of 13000~ people.
It's worth considering who the other participants are, has this been mostly shared just among University of Cambridge students / staff (and HN readers now)?
Lived in Romania until I finished high school. Professors would always push us to compete in the olympiads, there was an informal system where some professors, even if they were not the one teaching your class, would take you under your wing to prepare you to hit county/national/international level, you’d be allowed to skip school for a week/month depending on the level you got to, there was even some prestige to be gained.
I was personally never motivated to go past county, but it was a fun time.
The title made me think it's a type of eulogy to the pre-AI, pre-ChatGPT Internet, but I was pleasantly surprised by pretty colours instead!
Not at all, if anything multiple return values offers such flexibility that it should be the default.
Can this be encoded as a JPEG for easily saving it on mobile?
Time to finally buy a Kindle I guess
Hi! I was a Sublime Text fan throughout University, and I would have loved to continue using it. Unfortunately for me Sublime lacks too many necessities, and that forced me off Sublime and onto the much slower VSCode.
I really wish Sublime would develop a more solid plugin system and have some sane built-ins such as a terminal.
Really reminds me of this fake CRT monitor made with a moving laser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qPc_I1V6go
I'm sorry, you are crazy.
I have seen a couple of snarky comments about how AoC is just a competition for who can write an input parser the fastest for 25 days in a row, I'll just share the following:
Just write that once, put it in a template /day0 folder that has /day0/part1, /day0/part2, and /day0/input.txt, and then just copy it and focus on the actual problem. It's all about having fun!
Sure they are, like the 10 times they were before this.
Eyyy, I’m walkin’ ‘ere
I just rely on Apple's iCloud contacts, you can add people into groups if you just want to see subsets of them, and it's enough. Sometimes simple is good.
The irrelevancy of this just reflects the sad state of affairs in the UK after Brexit.
Just saw some screenshots of a Discord conversation where a supposed friend/collaborator of the maintainer denied it, instead confirming it was a cease and desist.
Take both this and the top comment with many grains of salt.
Are we sure it wasn't just a low poly cirlce? :)
