What would you suggest they study in order to learn how to write code properly? I've been working in chip design for a few years (writing verilog code instead of software code) but I'm thinking of trying to make a move into the software world

I think FB, Google and Apple simply being more profitable than Cisco has more to do with it
He has divulged in the past that “Is that all there is?” by Peggy Lee is his favourite song
What exactly has happened to them under SoftBank that caused their margins to drop so much? I have no idea why they can't turn a decent profit, given that, as you said yourself, the market is more dependent on their reference designs and core IP than ever.
What tech do you have to specialize in to get $1 million a year?
Did DeepMind have anything to do with the TPUs? I was under the impression another group in Google designed them
Not sure what it is like in the US, but in the UK, the RSPB doesn't seem to think cats are a major cause of bird population decline https://www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildlife/advice/gardening-...
Vaccines only help you not get seriously ill, they don’t seem to help much with preventing covid infection in the first place
How does this benefit purchasers in any way? Did you mean to say it benefits the seller?
Would you hesitate to hire someone from Facebook or any of the multitude of western companies with a history of unethical business practices?
Baffling to me hearing about Americans in SV who can't afford to live on their own on over $150k, that would easily be a top 1% salary in the european city I live in
UK doctors earn way less than US doctors, same as engineers
UK salaries are a lot lower than US salaries but every country has lower salaries than the US and the UK fares better than most. I would guess this means brits have less incentive to emigrate than people from India or somewhere were salaries are even lower than the UK.
It’s also quite difficult to move to the US from the UK, a lot easier to move to Canada, Australia, New Zealand or the rest of Europe.
Why is this the case? Looking at the posts on Blind, even Google and Facebook seem to pay their hardware engineers a bit less than their software engineers, probably because they know they can lowball them. It doesn't make any sense, unless the global shortage of software engineers is even worse.
Most chips are not processors running software and most of the manufactured processors are small embedded ones, i.e not the kind of processors running extremely bloated software applications
Do you have the option of just paying for one gym session? Most of the gyms near me have yearly/monthly subscriptions as well as allowing you to pay for a single gym session
The USA has made life objectively worse for a much larger number of Muslims than China has over the past few decades
I don't see how it is any worse than the many western social media apps and games that use the same addiction inducing techniques
I'm curious, what sort of salary range would there be for engineers in your country?
no guarantee that future returns will match past returns but they are a pretty good guide
Most people are more likely to end up in prison in the USA than they are in China
A lot of negative responses here but my own experiences having graduated with an EE degree from an average university (in the UK) 3 years ago has been pretty good so far. I was able to get 3 internships at 3 different semiconductor companies throughout the course of my degree and got a job at another semiconductor company immediately after graduating doing digital chip design so I don't think the job market, at least in my niche, can be quite that bad. The pay is pretty good, well above average for a recent graduate in the low cost of living city I'm based in and a bit higher than my software engineering friends in the same city. Still considering maybe doing a masters in computer science to expand my career options though

What advantages does the optacon have over OCR solutions or phone apps? Why did your cohorts abandon them?
Do you have any experience with kdb+/q? I was considering taking a job offer where I'd have the opportunity to learn kdb+/q but I don't have any experience with it and I can't find a huge amount of information about it online.
