You are more correct than you know. “Coke” (the full sugar, red can kind) is actually Coca-Cola “Classic.” Notably in the 80s Coca-Cola reformulated to the absolute outrage of the soda drinkers of the world (1985). They had released a diet version of this reformulation three years prior (1982)—I suppose as a trial run—based on Tab. For some reason people liked the diet version. This is Diet Coke. After backpedaling on the reformulation, the full-sugar flagship was re-released in all its former glory, dubbed Coca-Cola Classic. Much later, a diet version of this “classic” formula was released. This is Coke Zero. So yes, it’s absolutely about taste, because Coke and Diet Coke aren’t based on the same recipe!

I own a US Jetta 2011 TDI post-fix. I believe in the United States that ALL 2.0L Common Rail VW diesels sold in the US were affected[0] and (depending on owner’s discretion) either fixed at VWs expense, or bought-back and resold after the fix was applied. There are likely no pre-fix VW CR TDIs driving the roads in the United States today. The extended warranty was enough to incentivize even the most sovereign of citizens to take their vehicle in. Then in 2015 they stopped selling them altogether in the US. Jealous of the Euros…

Mine gets about 42 US MPG if I keep a light foot, which can be hard given how fun it is to drive. Usually works out to around 450mi a tank give or take (14 US Gallons) depending on how I feel on fill-up day about fiddling my thumbs to wait for the foam in the tank to go down to top it up to get it to “all the way filled.” I love it to death and will drive it until the DPF gets clogged, then delete and keep driving. Just bought a MK4 Jetta TDI as a beater to see if I can drive it to the moon once or twice. :) Cheers!

AFAIK, Deno seeks to solve the most severe case of this problem in Node[0]. At the very least, you start from a place where permission surprises are more readily caught. Would be really great to be able to specify on a per-import basis.

What a truly bizarre response. You are aware that these “other parties” you speak of are neither tolerant nor liberal in any genuine sense I hope. Perhaps the reason conservatism has been over represented these past 20 years is again, by design. The popular “left” politics in America are a farce and completely immaterial. They are merely a lacquer over the same underlying core values that drive all politics in the country. Just running off of recent memory: the opportunity to codify reproductive rights with federal legislation has been present since the docket for SCOTUS was announced nearly a year ago but completely ignored, the party has allowed itself to be held hostage by at least two of its own at the risk of not passing much needed laws to bend the curve of climate change, we have been put on a path toward nuclear war (the last two atom bomb were also dropped by dems, so go figure), the party continues to endorse placing migrant children in cages at the border, drops bombs on Yemen and Syria killing innocent civilians in the process, allows Guantanamo to stay open, and refuses to pass any kind of legislation to bring wealth inequality under control. None of this is tolerant nor does it represent changing in any way, unless you consider change to mean killing innocent people for no good reason. Allow me to quote the current sitting president, said to a group of campaign donors during the lead-up to the election: “Nothing will fundamentally change.” And, you will be surprised to find out, nothing has fundamentally changed.

This is a bit reductionist, no? Any and all embers of hope at eliminating wealth inequality are dashed as soon as they are much more than that, all at the behest of shareholders and lobbyists whose money conveniently slips into both blue and red pockets. At this point if you think voting is going to turn this around, man do I have a bridge to sell you. The only thing that will incite material change will be riot, miracle, meteor, or—hey, even more relevantly with another imperialist world war on the horizon—maybe a couple hundred nuclear-tipped warheads! We probably won’t get to vote on that one, ya think?

Since when is it just one party’s bag to spend loads of money? I’m not sure that the stopgap measures in the CARES Act qualify as “hard left” considering they were intended to provide aid to the country during a hudred-year catastrophe event. Distinct from the media monkey-dancing, both parties obliged those initial packages with little cross-party fuss. It seems as if you’re conflating “left” with “spending lots of tax-payer money.” That ship has sailed. I still have my first paper stimulus check with a very proud signature on it. This kind of my-favorite-flavor of picking and choosing what is “left” and what is “right” proves the intentional vagueness of American politics works perfectly in undoing any meaningful criticisms of the system as a whole. Both parties are one in the same. The differences between them are immaterial in the face of the problems we face. Red or blue, they will continue to burp their champagne at us as this magnificent shift drifts further toward the iceberg and they tell us from both sides of the aisle “we’re working on it, but the other guys won’t budge.” How many decades does this pattern play out with nothing getting better before the realization sets in that nothing is going to get better, and that’s the way it’s meant to be? No left or right, only wrong.
