I love the 3 big icons/images for status. That's what people want to see when they first come to the page.I also love the columns for twitter comments paired with yellow<->red spectrum of when there was trouble.
However, don't default to grey, default to green if nothing went wrong. :+1: otherwise.
I personally prefer brew over other package management systems, especially given that it's open source. Rudix is probably just as good, but I can't see other people fixing packages in a github/issue format like i could with brew.

Requires you to have to ask them less questions when you run into a blocker. Helps you debug issues.

Are you just missing the fundamental point of why anyone learns anything? You learn more so you can do more and make more effective/informed decisions.
Pretty spot on. I'm constantly bothered by people who are "Front End" Engineers and only want to slap some html/css around or only do DOM manipulation.
Sure, you should do that stuff better than me (back end), but knowing how you are getting your data, where it's coming from, etc will only make you better.
TPW (or some early GH employee) has posted somewhere that yes, the cost of servers on your own is cheaper.
However, the original goal of GitHub was to build a tool that allowed collaboration easier. You pay for the experience and the tools and the network IMO.
