The surface support sounds interesting. Has anyone here tried that?

Same here, 2017 unity is fast, stable and beautiful.
I hope this move results in the same improvements coming to gnome. but I'm not upgrading for now.
I have, it has is quirks.
With that said, use their smartwatches. The UI is so much better than the competition it's not even funny.
And then you have Samsung pay card emulation magic....
Tizen on smartwatch is pretty awesome.
Imho its miles ahead of the other watch OSes
Another vote for termux!
It's specially useful on chromeos
Please don't. It's a tablet, it needs some bezels.
But if that is all your care about you can by a generic PC with similar specs for 1/3 of the price of the MBP.
see, that argument goes both ways.
I don't think your definition of success matches theirs. People have different values, some value openness above market share.

Speaking of openness, and since you mentioned ios: apple recently unpublished a company's entire catalog of apps without any explanations. The word on the street is malware (well technically fraudulent adware) but do you think you will ever get apple to admit that?
Define success.
Btw, Linux on desktop is used by many large tech companies...
But can it replace mg?
Emacs has a GUI with icons and menus and tooltips and all that.
Isn't that what a true beginner would use anyway instead of the terminal version?
Google is being fined by EU for their business practices in EU.
Telia is being fined for their business practices in a third country.
Not defending anyone, but can't you see this is a dangerous path? What would happen if Saudi Arabia fined Coca Cola for an "indecent" commercial they televised in Delaware?
Telia is paying billions to US for conducting business in Uzbekistan in the only way it can be done.
please remember this next time EU fines Google.
I don't think Google cares about tablets anymore.
But I would love to see an updated nexus 7!
This is a valid concern, I don't understand why you are getting downvoted.
Kind of related: at Google IO this year all speakers were using macbooks, but i have heard that a lot of teams have transitioned to chromebooks.
Maybe macbooks are preferred for presentations as many projector systems have problem with Windows and older Linux?
I don't get these mechanical keyboards. Maybe it's a reaction to all those shallow laptop keyboards, which i as a thinkpad user have not encountered...
Or maybe its a gamer thing?
is this significantly different from "tig"?
Why didn't he use left-pad.io?
An opportunity lost if you ask me.
Give me xwindows support in termux and I will happily ditch every other os.
And with 8.0 we will start to see commercial roms with even better and longer support

I don't mind the company, but I don't like that a product of a single company has become the defacto communication channel for tech people.
In many gatherings speakers identify themselves by twitter handles instead of email. Do you think that is sound?
I just learned about cbor. Does cbor have this issue too?
My solution to this is to not use my phone for this stuff.
I only log into the site from a desktop browser. No point reading messages when I'm AFK anyway.
Stop that!
You cannot judge battery life after only a few days, specially after an update.
Needed for those smooth animations in the UI. Yes, animations.
Seriously, this iron got style.

I'm reading your comment on my smartphone, while in a bathroom, while on a conference trip.

PS. Google also can access your emails. Also knows about everyone in your contact list. They also know what video you watch on YouTube. Oh the horrors
IIRc docker runs as root while lxd runs as a normal user.
I think the Ubuntu wiki has some articles about lxd security.
