I wish there was study based on whether multi-vitamins help for those of us who are professional sitters (eg, in tech, so we sit on our ass all day), and who most of the time do NOT eat healthy diets, and do not get enough exercise.

It's one thing to "support" it, it's another to make components actually available to make repairs. I remember some people testing out a direct screen swap between two identical iphones, only to find out they didn't work after the swap. So even if you can get a replacement component, do you have the management software to update the eeprom to say "hey, the screen with this serial is good to go".

We use to jokingly say that whatever the estimate is, the actual time it takes is twice as long, and increase the unit.

I've asked this question a number of times in interviews. Sadly, not one person has ever talked about debouncing. I think I would've instantly hired the person, if they talked about debouncing :P

To clarify, I would ask this question as a wrap up, a sort of final probe of depth test. If they don't go into much detail, no big deal. If they were good in the rest of the interview, they'd still get hired. If they were good elsewhere but also went into depth on this question, then it really boosts their likeliness of getting hired. I find that people who are curious about how things work, especially when it is outside of their main domain, are usually people interesting to work with.

I think it isn't so much about what traffic to a static site will do to a server, but rather what the experience is for the end user. The tie in to CDNs help reduce load time for your end user.

so I take it the battery is user replacable? That's my worry with most of these electronics, the product can be fine, but if the battery is welded in place, then it becomes a huge PITA to replace.

I've been with HelloFresh for a year and a half. Before joining, I could only make the most basic meals, spaghetti, grilled cheese. Now, I feel like the training with HelloFresh and I'm a much better cook. The variety of meals has got me to try numerous things (and combinations of spices, ingredients, etc) that I normally would never buy for myself in a grocery store, or order in a restaurant.

I have to say that one thing about HelloFresh meals, they always plate so well. Over the time I've been with them, I've certainly collected a number of favourite recipies. But unfortunately, recipies are definitely repeating now.

There are a number of reasons I am still with them.

1. Having everything needed just show up is really nice. I waste way less food with HelloFresh (either over buying ingredients that go bad, or making too much due to poor portion control and no one wants to eat left over 3 days after). Having just the right amount of fresh herbs for a meal can really make or break the flavour. I do still go to to grocery store for some basic stuff that I use to supplement some meals with, as some meals are occassaionally small. For example, if the meal comes with 1 potato, I may add a potato of my own. I leave the meat portion alone, and I think this has gotten me to eat smaller portions as well.

2. Having a constant stream of different meals is nice. Before, my husband and I'd settled into always making the standard rotation of around 10 meals. That gets dull really quick. It was leading us to ordering pizza more than once a week, which is definitely not good (it is tasty, but not good).

3. I enjoy making the food, and like I said, it always looks great when it is plated, so I take pictures of each creation and proud to show friends and family.

The over packaging issue, so the box and the meals within is cardboard and paper bags, I recycle both. I noticed recently they no longer plastic bag the garlic or shallots, which is just fine by me. The biggest waste right now is all the small plastic bags the sauces and spices come in. I suppose if I wanted, I could recycle those as well since they are plastic. The ice packs are non-chemical, and reusable. I've given many many away to friends and family. Basically no one I know ever has to buy an ice pack again. And even then I have too many of them, so once in a while I cut a bunch open and wash it down the drain (they say it is a non-toxic salt solution, and safe to wash down the drain)

The boxes I've also given away when people want moving boxes, but I recycle most of them.

I think recently some of the meals have gotten a little "meh". I paused my subscription on some weeks when really nothing on the list excited me. I hope that trend doesn't continue. I have not tried other services like BA.

Sure it's fun and stuff, but it is literally stuff like this that makes higher ups think "Why are you taking so long for a form? I can have an AI do it for me!" And then you have to spend time explaining that you have to consider responsiveness, internationalisation, error handling, oh... and there is of course what sits behind the form, all the back code that actually records all this information, error checks it, etc etc...

I wonder if the target audience of this printer even care about material properties like strength. I mean, what functional parts do you know of, in your car, bike, washing machine, are in full colour?

I feel like the people who want full colour will be making pre-production sample prints for marketing purposes.

While I am sure the HP solution will run circles around this, in both quality and in price, but XYZ Printing has introduced a (low cost) inkjet+FDM 3D printer. Basically it prints a layer with the FDM printer, then prints a layer of color with the inkjet.

Now, it seems pretty hard to find any good reviews on Youtube about it. Obviously their marketing material shows it printing fabulous vibrant prints, but the "3D printing professor" did a review of it, and he ran into a whole slew of issues. Interesting stuff, but looks to be at the infancy stage.

Tabs Backup and Restore for Chrome is very useful, if you are like me, and collect more and more tabs to "Read later". It will do periodic snapshots of all tabs, and you can restore any point in time.

Clever indeed. I do wonder how hard it is to get the 2d images out of the ultrasound though. I don't suppose it's just like a mjpeg stream like a webcam.

I don't think it is the ideas we lack, it is the focus on money. Ideas that won't make tonnes of money don't make it into reality.

It's not, "hey, is that idea going to help people/planet/____"?

It's, "hey, is that idea going to make me rich?"
