In my experience most open source tools like this have a sentence-long description on their sourceforge page or a brief introduction on their github repo, which puts this miles ahead in terms of design effort.

well, if it was actually safe to do, a password tester would be smart for a lot of people.

you might think that the phone number of that cute girl in that movie combined with her initials is a safe password, but if you check out some of the password lists that have popped up the last year you'll see that alot of people thought the same way.

Not really, cause with a PS/2 connector you know you're probably inserting it wrong. With a USB-connector you think you're right, but you're not.

I really liked your site, however while browsing a couple of things struck me as odd:

1. The yellow "we're in beta" alertbar. The alertbar usually tells you that the website is trying to do something fishy you don't want it to, like popups.

2. The inconsistent menubar. On the front page, if I just want to check out your site without signing up, there isn't one. When I click "Browse MinuteBox" a menubar shows up, but it disappears when I click "Profile" and forces me to hit the back button instead of going to another page.

On another note, I know you're beta and everything, but I see no requests. Which means I can't really check out what that (the most important) side of your site is about. I don't know what you could do about it besides making fake requests, but I can't really see what your site is about at the moment.

I basically agree with all the advice given, but the easy-fix-guy in me realizes that it's most likely just replacing a weak password and deleting an easily found botnetscript, and he'll can have the box up and running again.

I guess that's the difference between fixing my private boxes with no sensitive informastion and fixing this guy's 600-site serving box:)

WakeMate review 16 years ago

I thought this was a gadget to help you wake up at the ideal time? Seems the author of the review didn't leave this much thought and didn't write about it before commenters asked for it.

I agree with the reviewers scepticism towards the usefulness of the statistics, but I am interested in buying this to make my mornings better, not analyzing my sleeping patterns.
